CHAPTER 34
"Of course, my lady. These products will help you best!"
I don't know if I could trust this guy, he looks rather a quack. Let's not be hasty, maybe I'm too early to judge him by what he looks, no rather his expertise.
"Here, have a look, my lady." The doctors handed me the medicines.
I'm curious, so I took the medicine from his hold and observes it. Nothingness, even if I inspect it carefully and longer, I won't still have a lead to what kind of ingredients were used to make these medicines.
"How much are these?" How could I forget the cost? If these were so effective, I could guess its price is also expensive.
As I asked the cost, the doctor's lips pulled up. "It's only 2 silver each."
Me: "…"
Dandelion: "…"
The doctor noticed our expression and quietness. "Ahahaha, it's not that expensive."
Both I and Dandelion were left speechless and agape at how it costs turn out. 2 silver each? Does that look cheap to you?
A commoner's monthly payment was 3 silver and no more than that. How can we find such money? We don't have work, and we are not rich.
I coughed, and my eyes rolled towards Dandelion standing behind the doctor. Does he have such money? I doubt it.
He noticed my stare and catches up my message. "We don't have such money, but…"
I frown at him, and he looks away, facing the doctor. "Doctor, I'm sorry, but we don't have such money. We can't buy your products." I voiced.
"No!" Dandelion's shout was so loud, making me and the doctor eyes on him quietly. "Ahem… I can trade the price with these." I was about to object, when he showed a ring almost transparent with an emerald stone embedded in it.
"I object! You can't do that!" Screaming, I protested.
When I saw that object, that ring, I know it's important, so important, as I sense a feeling of belonging towards it. I could felt energy circulating from it.
By the ring's appearance, the doctor was silent, but wide-eyed, staring at it, cleanly fascinated by the ring. "Well… If that's- Then I guess I could accept it. After all, I was a doctor with a pure heart. I can't let a patient go without giving something."
I know it's a freaking lie! Pure heart, my ass. How can you have a pure heart when you took the medicines from my hand abruptly like I'm gonna steal it, after telling you that we don't have money, that we can't afford such price.
"Eon! I don't need a freaking medicine to be able to walk! You can't hand him that…" The cat got my tongue, when I saw his angry expression. His face was red and, from the looks of it, he was clenching his teeth as if holding something.
"Doctor, this ring, for those medicines. Hmm…?" He said in a forced tone. Dandelion's face was red, the eyes giving him a vibe of easy to talk to was now sharp as an eagle's. His innocent face was nowhere to be found, replaced by something scary. His features resemble a devil's.
I can't believe he can make that kind of face, and his killing aura was reeking. The doctor even trembles, while heavily sweating, in fact, we both are.
I don't know how long I have been staring at Dandelion blankly, but when I broke from my stupor, the doctor already left.
With his back facing me, he was starting speaking angrily, and I know it's for me. "Listen, your well-being is more important than that fancy ring. We could get many precious things as long as our body was healthy with no injuries or illness, but if our body is not well, in the future we will gain nothing, but ashes. Sacrificing an object is not so much of a lost than sacrificing a person's life. Things can be earned and bought, but can your leg be earned and bought? How about your head! If you lost your stupid head because of protecting an object, can you live again? Will you live again? Can people mend your severe head back to your neck? Never! So value life more than anything!"
Dandelion turned his front to me coolly. I'm in awe. I don't know whether it was his inspiring words or his dazzling appearance made me mesmerized and gape in awe, maybe both. "Please, you need to first value yourself. Others may betray you and take you lightly if you don't."
His words now much unlike while ago were gentle and his expression softened too. Is he angry at me for choosing the ring than the medicine for my leg? I don't want to face him, so I cast down my head and purse my lips.
"But the ring…" I know that ring was not cheap, how could he hand it to that doctor?
'I hope she didn't remember that ring, I don't know if it's important to her, but her leg is the top priority for now.' Thought Dandelion. "Don't mention that ring ever again, Kira. Please?"
"Oh-Okay. But…"
"No buts, it's going to be fine." Dandelion replied to Lily.
Lily opened the capsule, taking one pill in it. "Oh, I forgot to ask the doctor how many times and pills should I drink in one day."
Still bowing, not noticing Dandelions reaction when he saw the pill. He was furious. They have been tricked. "Can you open the other one?"
Lily heed his please, when she opened the circle container of the cream, Dandelion burst. "THAT DOCTOR, HOW COULD HE TRICK US?"
"What? What do you mean, tricked." Lily asked, confused.
Dandelion sighed angrily, before explaining. "You don't know what these are? This one," while pointing at the capsule filled with white pills. "It's a product use to maintain beauty, and this one," pointing to the cream. "This is a skin moisturizer. Basically, all these are beauty products."
"Eh? What? Beauty products, what am I going to do with these?" Then at that moment, realization struck. "Then? That doctor…"
Shrugging his shoulder, Dandelion let Lily face the music. "He tricked us and took that expensive ring with him."
"For short, he's a quack."

"I'm gonna kill that quack if ever we are fated to cross paths."
