As he stepped out of the restroom, the man's green eyes caught an unintentional glance, seeing a slender figure leaning against the wall outside the door.
The bar was dimly lit, and combined with his slight inebriation, Bryan White didn't see clearly or pay much attention at first. But when he took a step forward, the figure turned its head, stood straight, and blocked his path. Only then did he realize who it was.
"You..." He squinted, staring at the woman in front of him. After a brief moment of silence, he quickly retracted his gaze and sidestepped to leave.
"Bryan White!..." The woman behind him was indeed Mabel Doyle. Her face was calm as she stared at the man's back without moving forward, calling out to him.
The man did not stop walking. It seemed as if he hadn't heard her and continued on his way.
Mabel Doyle watched with her brows tightly knit. Finally, she shouted, "Bryan White, stop right there!"
