"...Does she still want her daughter to follow her own path? No way, absolutely non-negotiable!"
Madam White was resolute; she was generally easy to negotiate with, but once she made up her mind, there was no room for reconsideration.
Seeing her stance, Bryan White understood her principles and knew that saying more was useless, so he changed his approach, "She's not going to the FBI, our little White Rabbit will not! But regarding the nickname..."
He turned to gauge his mother's expression, still hoping she might relent, at least on the naming issue.
Madam White glanced at him, guessing that he was undoubtedly under his wife's influence, and she didn't want to make things difficult for her son, as she wasn't an unreasonable mother-in-law.
So she spoke softly, "Tell me, what nickname do you and your wife want to change to?"
If it was reasonable, she would accept it.
"This..." Bryan White frowned, hesitated for a moment, but then braced himself, "Little Lion."
