The two chatted for a while longer before ending the call.
After hanging up, she felt a bit better, lay down and closed her eyes to sleep. Around midnight, she vaguely heard footsteps.
She opened her eyes, but only saw the door slowly closing. Guessing who it might be, Tracy scrambled up and rushed to the door, but suddenly hesitated and didn't immediately open it.
Holding her breath and listening for any sounds outside until the footsteps faded away, she then opened the door.
Tracy took a step out and just happened to see the tall back of a man disappearing at the end of the hallway.
He had returned to the bedroom but didn't wake her, not even saying a word, showing clearly that what she said had hurt him deeply.
But Tracy didn't feel she was wrong. She had been honest with him, loving him wholeheartedly, yet he didn't trust her and only believed Grace Parker.
If this is how trust is in marriage, then what trust can there be!?
