Lady Ling stared at the cursed sky, her white hair blowing gently in the burning wind.
Her expression was calm, but there was a strange sadness in her eyes.
"This curse is usually sealed," she said softly. "But for the past three years, I have been unable to hold it down. And because of that, these curses were freed again."
Gu Jin raised an eyebrow.
"Three years? You mean… this has been growing all this time?"
"Yes," Lady Ling nodded. "And it will continue to grow unless someone stronger takes my place."
Before Gu Jin could say anything, she noticed something strange.
At the farthest corner of the sky, something started to bubble and twist.
A new eye formed slowly, oozing out of the darkness like a disgusting wound.
The sight made her stomach turn. "Ugh…" she muttered, quickly looking away. "That's disgusting…"
But even though she looked away, something deep inside her stirred.
She felt a strange, powerful urge to burn every single eye with her dark fire.
