The silence within an abandoned building was ruined by the sound of dripping water.
The group of cloaked individuals had once again regrouped outside the safe zone.
Their cloaks were wet, but that seemed to be the least of their worries. The rain had come to a stop, just like the man had predicted earlier.
"Hand them over"
The brown-haired man calmly opened his palm, and two orbs were dropped into them.
...
...
"Where is the orb?"
The man's eyes flickered to the fan woman. The red-haired lady stood there, paralyzed. "Where is your orb?"
The woman stuttered in fear
"U-um, w-ell I-"
The woman wasn't even able to respond when she suddenly fell down. Looking below, her legs had been turned into a jumbled mess.
"Wait! N-"
The ground splattered in blood, and a corpse twisted beyond recognition lay quietly on the floor.
"Tsk. Useless"
The man cracked his neck for a second and let out a sigh.
"Let's go back before Eva gets here"
The group dared not hesitate and followed his commands, vanishing as though they were never there.

Surprisingly enough, the safe zone quickly dealt with the aftermath. The damage dealt to all the infrastructure was fixed by Eva, who had only just arrived.
"...It's only been a few days, how did this happen?"
Eva's black sockets she called her eyes still creeped most of the instructors out.
Her presence didn't just scream strong, it screamed evil.
Arc was one of the few people who seemed unaffected.
"There's a lot of questions we don't know the answers to. From the insignia on their cloaks that was definitely Raven, but we all know that shouldn't be possible.
"Nobody should be able to come to earth right now without being selected by one of the faes."
Eva glanced at Arc. "...What are you trying to say?"
It was to be known that the faes were extremely prideful about one another. They wouldn't accept any other species talking down on someone else from their race.
"...It could have been one of the faes from the other territories. You're in charge of Kyoto. Maybe it could have been one from a nearby territory. Your people, the administrators directly stream the games to the gods, providing them entertainment."
The ice lady sat beside him and added on.
"There came here to take away talent, and from what I've seen, they knew the perfect ones to target. There might also be a mole relaying info from this safe zone to the opposing Fae"
'What shows this couldn't happen to the other safe zones in Kyoto as well.'
'If they do any more damage than this, when the streaming starts I won't have any viewers....'
Eva weighed her options.
"Raven..."
Her aura intensified the more she thought about them. They were ruining everything.
"The stream officially starts next week, so everything needs to be back to normal before then"
"Where is the head of the zone?"
"The principal? He's dead"
Arc blankly replied.
"Tsk. Useless"
It was clear even though Eva was speaking to them she thought of them as lesser beings.
She was about to continue when a duplicate of her suddenly appeared.
"Hey, main body. We're about to have another meeting"
"Huh? Again?" Eva complained.
Seraph, the ice lady overheard the words of the duplicate and raised her brow.
"The faes are meeting? That's a chance to find out who might be against you"
Eva froze, her hollow gaze slowly locking on to Seraph.
"How do you know?"
Seraph remained silent, unmoving. Eva's stare slowly grew into a frown.
"I hate smart bastards like you"
Seraph remained motionless, but she was using all her willpower to presence her face from scrunching up from the pressure Eva was placing on her.
The room remained quiet for a few seconds. Nobody could feel the pressure, but they could all tell what Eva was doing.
After a moment, the pressure ceased.
"You."
She pointed at Arc.
"Youre the new leader. Figure out the rest yourself"
Arc didn't have time to be flabbergasted as Eva instantly vanished along with her duplicate.
...
...
"Well? What do we do now leader?"
Bao snickered.
"Tsk"
"Was that a chuckle, leader?"
"No."
Arc glared at Bao silently, who seemed to be enjoying the show.
"...We still need to figure out about the talent seeking orbs. They shouldn't have them in abundance, but if they do... We're in for a world of trouble..."
The place was deathly quiet, but after a bit, someone finally spoke.
"Can we ask for Eva's help again? She might be able to find and kill them"
"You met Eva. If you feel like dooming your people, feel free, but I for one like my people."
The instructors weren't here by their volition. Most if not all of them had something or someone taken away from them with the promise of being given it back in exchange for taking roles in the game.
A bead of sweat dropped down the man's face as he thought. 'Just how petty can they be?'
"Next topic, do we compensate the victims?"
"No. We didn't tell them to come here did we?"
A random instructor answered for everyone.
"..Good point"

Alex lay in a pod that seemed to be slowly healing him, inside his consciousness though, Z sat his head resting against his fist.
"Why didn't you save me before?" Alex calmly asked.
Z smiled . "I had already used the link earlier."
"You know that's not what I'm talking about."
"The possession. You didn't tell me about it and then you used it only after I was about to die."
Alex raised his head
"You know, now that I think about it, the reason my eyes had been so special since I was young was because you were there, weren't you? And all those times, you were there, but you didn't do anything."
Z closed his eyes, but his smile still remained.
"I can tell, when I die, so will you, that's why you saved me."
Alex's mentality had changed a bit after the one side beat down, he had become more rational.
"Ha…hahahha!! You really think you've got me! Sorry to break to you kid, but once you die, my cell just changes, basically, I change hosts, so doing that stupid plan of jumping of a sky scraper won't do you any good."
Clang!
The chains on his wrists suddenly became tighter, preventing him from laughing anymore, but he still smiled.
"So you could read my mind since the beginning...Guess jumping won't work"
Never mind what was said before. The boy wasn't right in the head.
The area became once again enveloped in silence for a solid minute before Z spoke.
"If you wanted me to, I could bring back your brother"
Alex's eyes gained a bit of life as he questioned. "…What's the catch?"
"Twe-"
"No, what am I doing?"
Alex closed his eyes. He wouldn't want this...
'What do I want? Money? Power?....'
"Oh? Interesting..."
Z smiled hearing Alex's thoughts.
"You listened to my thoughts, so you should know what I want."
Souls. That's all you need. In exchan-"
"Souls? I don't get it."
Z could feel a vein slowly grow on his head. Alex kept interrupting him.
"Kill. I'll extract their souls myself so don't worry about that part"
'I need to kill people?'
"Do you mean killing human, or monsters?"
"Either, although I prefer humans, they're much purer."
'Yes, or No?'
Alex's mind flipped back to everything that had happened so far. If he didn't change, he would die.
"...Continue"
"I like that answer. The only condition I have is that I need you to find someone for me"
"Who?"
"I don't know...."
Alex almost fell hearing that answer.
"All I know is that they should have an ability called Break"
"..."
"..."
"Sorry if that's not much of a lead"
"Fuck you"

"Ha!"
Peng!
The sound of a metal being hit resounded throughout the training room. It didn't matter much though, for only a single person occupied it, no one else was in the mood to train after what just happened. Kenji stood in front of the metal dummy which displayed a bold red number,
[104 DMG]
"Tch, HA!"
Peng!!
[260 CRIT]
"Almost at G rank, just a little more."
Kenji, as a holder, had been stuck at G- rank for a bit too long, he was also a pioneer albeit a late one, yet he was still G- rank.
Yet if someone saw his stats, they would choke him to death. He had the stats of a G+ ranker.

It had been a while since Alex woke up, and Z was messing around with a crystal ball which floated above his hands and was being attacked by black threads from his body.
