Erend charged toward Nyssara once again. Unlike before, however, his mind had regained its clarity. The lingering echoes of the Black Rage still remained deep within his soul but they no longer clouded his judgment. His crimson Dragon eyes stayed locked on Nyssara as blazing fire continued trailing behind his massive body while he tore through the dark sky.
Meanwhile, Nyssara felt panic tightening around her thoughts. For a moment, she intended to draw even more power from her real body. Her instinct screamed at her to overwhelm these Dragonborn through sheer strength alone. But then reason finally returned, allowing her to think more clearly.
If she drew even more power from her real body, she would truly be violating the oath she had made with the Dragonborn.
The backlash would become far more severe.
Nyssara did not believe she could endure another increase in the punishment.
But if she refused… Could she still win this battle?
