I walked through the city streets, gazing up at the towering buildings and the vibrant world around me.
[Grey]: No matter what world I end up in, it's always incredible to see something new like this.
For a moment, I let myself hope that scenes like this could last forever. But reality never allows peace for long.
A colossal arm tore through the sky, reaching down from the heavens. It gripped the city like a toy and crushed it—turning everything into dust.
From the surface of the moon, the others and I watched the world below vanish into ruin.
[Rimuru]: Grey, why didn't you stop that from happening?
[Grey]: Rimuru… that was a Chaos Titan's arm. I might be reckless, but even I know when to hesitate. Besides… It's time to end this, don't you think, Six?
I looked at the fading remains of my friends—bodies dissolving into glittering ash—and then at the man stepping forth from the void.
[Six]: How did you know I was here?
[Grey]: You didn't exactly hide your presence. But tell me—was it really necessary to turn my friends into dust?
[Six]: They weren't real. Just echoes—clones pulled from other timelines. Besides, I came here with an offer. A job. Would you take it, madam?
[Grey]: I'll consider it… But you already know what I want first.
[Six]: Of course. Here—answers to all your questions. Your home world has been restored, the dark god has been disposed of, and those who died have been reincarnated as their in-game selves.
Six extended his hand, revealing a cube that shimmered with a faint emerald glow. The light pulsed like a heartbeat—steady, alive, watching me.
[Six]: Now, Father of the Three, the Grey who loved the Red and killed the Yellow… I welcome you to our marred fellowship of shadows— The Void Hunters of the Dark Void.
I took the cube. Its glow reflected faintly in my eyes as I met his gaze. For a long moment, silence stretched between us—heavy, endless, and strangely familiar.
Then I smiled and said,
[Grey]: …Well, looks like I finally found my next nightmare to wake up from.
[Author's Note]
[Hello everyone — this is the author speaking.
Yes, this marks the end of the book. There will be no new chapters or continuations from me. I'm truly sorry for the abrupt ending. Originally, the story was planned to conclude around Chapter 80, but with how busy life has become and the amount of work piling up, it's simply become too difficult to keep going.
I've truly loved working on this story — it's by far my favorite among all the ones I've written. Every moment spent creating it was something special to me. I only hope that one day, someone else might feel inspired to continue it — to breathe new life into the tale, rather than let it fade away completely.
Both my friend (who helped me from time to time) and I have talked about ways to continue, but with both of us being busy — me with work, and him with his own projects — we found no realistic way forward.
We're still working on a few side projects, like our other story, "The Multiversal Tool Seller of Skyblock," but between my workload and his efforts on what he calls his "masterpiece," — which might release next week — continuing this story just isn't possible right now.
Thank you all so much for reading, for following the chaos, and for sharing in this journey. It means more than I can ever say.
Let's put this jellyfish to rest now.
Goodbye, and I hope you all have a happy life and many good days ahead.]
