Oliver Bloom stood in place for quite a while before he remembered to toss the clothes in his hands into the dirty laundry basket. Then, he took off his pants and changed into lightweight white cotton pajamas.
He walked towards the bathroom, started to run the water, then remembered he'd already showered at University A today. So, he casually cupped some water, washed his face, and returned to the bedroom.
The bedroom lights were already off, except for the small lamp on his side of the bed. Elise Don was lying on the bed, her curvy form beneath a single blanket, lying on her side.
The other double blanket was neatly folded at the end of the bed; it was prepared for him, so no need to fight over it tonight.
Oliver got into bed, pulled the blanket over himself, and stared at the faint yellow light scattered from the nightlight above, resembling filtered moonlight—soft yet distant.
