Chapter 2 - Chapter -1

The chamber was vast, its stone pillars rising like silent guardians toward the carved ceiling. Golden lamps hung from iron chains, filling the air with warm amber light.

Silk curtains swayed gently near tall arched windows. The marble floor gleamed like still water, reflecting the glow of torches.

At the center stood a carved wooden bed, draped with embroidered fabric. Incense burned slowly in a bronze bowl, filling the air with sandalwood and mystery. The room did not just hold a person — it held power. The room was decorated according to her favourite style but they are not joy in Lin Yue eyes 😔.she sat alone in the room .Long flowing hair like dark silk.

Large expressive eyes

Wears soft pastel silks with delicate gold embroidery.

Lin Yue was lost her own thought when someone enter the room.

He does not need to speak loudly. His silence carries authority. When he enters a room, conversations slow.Sharp eyes — observant, thoughtful.and strong trained as soldier for years make his body like iron.

He stood there silent .

Finally Lin Yue spoke looking at her husband-Prince Zhao Liang – The Imperial Regent. He is not the emperor.

He rules on behalf of a young child emperor

He holds power — but not the throne.;

Your heighess do you need something?.

Tall, sharp features

Long black hair tied in a jade crown

Dark flowing hanfu robes embroidered with golden dragons (but never full imperial dragon — because only the emperor may wear five-clawed dragon)

Calm eyes that rarely reveal emotion.

Zhao ling remain composed keep looking at her after. Sometime he finally spoke- I don't have time to visit farm with you .

Lin Yue don't show any emotion on her and nodded.

Lin Yue doesn't want to sopke to him so remain silent .there relationship started to wornout from the day he rebel without telling her and taking that female docter with him

She is his wife remain in that village alone .without anyone telling her any news about them they started to neglect her like she is creating problem for them .

When Zhao Ling ,General of Aning dynasty was exile for treason of colluding with enemy country .as his wife she also exile with them .They with the support of each other live in harmony till that day after that there is a crack in their relation.someone say that by time crack in their relationship slowing heal stead of healing they are like stranger that have nothing to say each other now.

Lin Yue place her hand on her pregnant belly .she is pregnant by mistake of drunked night.she want to divorce at that tiime they don't have wedding night. she can find a loving husband .

But now she pregnant there were no chance for divorce.

Lin Yue spoke looking at him -Do you know I regret marrying you and following you in exile?

Zhao ling doesn't spoke a word he know if he speaks they argue again.she was emotionally disturbed.

Zhao Ling said - You rest I have some offical work to do.after saying he left leaving Lin Yue sitting there.Lin Yue doesn't suprise .it always like this.

Zhao ling went to his study room .He keep

stood alone in his study, staring at the empty inkstone on the desk.

It used to belong to

Lady Lin.

He remembered the day the crack began.

Not because of scandal.

Not because of betrayal.

But because of a simple refusal.

It was late autumn.

He had summoned Doctor Su to discuss border epidemic control. Documents were scattered across the table. Candles burned low.

Lady Lin entered quietly, carrying a cloak.

"You have not rested," she said softly, placing it over his shoulders.

He did not look at her.

"There are matters more urgent than comfort."

She fell silent.

Doctor Su, standing nearby, spoke carefully about disease spreading among soldiers.

The Regent listened intently.

Lady Lin remained beside him for a while.

Then she said:

"You have not eaten either."

His reply came sharper than intended.

"Must I report every meal to you?"

The room went still.

Doctor Su lowered her head.

Lady Lin's fingers tightened around the edge of the table.

But she did not argue.

She only said:

"I understand."

And she left.

At that time, the Regent felt relieved.

Relieved that she did not question him.

Relieved that there was no argument.

He thought silence meant peace.

He did not notice—

That night she did not wait for him to return to their chambers.

She did not send tea the next morning.

She did not ask about his wounds after training.

Little things.

Small things.

Things he once found unnecessary.

Now, standing alone years later, he finally understood.

That was the day she stopped trying.

Not because she stopped loving him.

But because she realized he no longer needed her tenderness.

He had called it interference.

She had called it care.

And between those two meanings—

Their marriage cracked

Next 🌄 morning

.The courtyard was quiet.

No servants dared step too close.

Lady Lin stood beneath the stone arch, her travel cloak already fastened.

When

Regent Zhao arrived, he did not ask why she was dressed to leave.

He already knew.

"You are going to the western farm," he said flatly.

"Yes."

Her answer was just as calm.

"How long?"

"A few weeks. Perhaps longer."

He nodded once.

"The estate guard will accompany you."

"I have already arranged it."

Silence fell.

Not the comfortable silence of husband and wife.

But the careful silence of two nobles measuring words.

"The accounts from last season are incomplete," he added, as if discussing grain prices with an official.

"I will review them personally."

A pause.

"The road outside the city is unstable after the rain."

"I am aware."

Another pause.

Neither of them mentioned the real reason.

She was leaving because staying felt colder than exile.

Finally he said,

"There is no need to leave the capital."

It did not sound like a request.

It sounded like procedure.

Lady Lin looked at him for a long moment.

"I will not disturb Your Highness there."

The title.

Not "husband."

Not even "you."

Just position.

His jaw tightened slightly.

"You never disturbed me."

"That is not what the court believes."

He did not deny it.

Because rumors had already spread.

Because another woman's name was often spoken beside his.

Because explanations had long ago become useless.

The wind lifted her veil slightly.

For a second, he noticed how thin she had become.

He almost spoke.

Almost.

Instead, he said,

"When do you depart?"

"Before dawn."

He nodded.

"I will not see you off. There is morning court."

"I did not expect you to."

No bitterness.

Just truth.

When she turned to leave, he called out once more.

"Lady Lin."

She stopped.

"Yes, Your Highness?"

He searched for something to say.

Anything that sounded less like farewell.

But all he managed was—

"Take care of the estate."

A faint smile touched her lips.

"Of course."

And in that moment, they both understood:

They were no longer a couple discussing a journey.

They were two officials transferring responsibility.
