Godfery Shaw gave a few instructions to Manager Vance, then walked out of the conservatory.
He waved towards Nancy Allen, his tone becoming gentle once again: "Nancy, I'm heading to the company first."
Nancy Allen waved back at Godfery Shaw.
After Godfery Shaw left, Nancy noticed Manager Vance's pale face and explained: "Manager Vance, don't mind him; his temper isn't great, and his words might not sound pleasant."
Manager Vance took a deep breath and smiled, saying: "No, Mr. Shaw just asked me to take good care of Miss Allen."
Nancy thought about it, considering Godfery Shaw's stern face might be intimidating, and since Emma Lewis sent this person, Godfery Shaw wouldn't go too far.
Nancy exchanged a few words with Manager Vance and, feeling a bit tired, leaned against the hammock chair and dozed off.
Manager Vance covered Nancy with a blanket, quietly sitting beside her, sticking to Godfery Shaw's instructions to not leave her side.
