In this narrow area, it was almost entirely covered by the enemy's firepower, and no matter how many Centipede lives were thrown in, it wouldn't be enough.
In the minds of many Centipede officers, this wasn't a battle anymore but a one-sided slaughter.
Despite being unwilling deep inside, their bodies instinctively chose to retreat.
