Taking a few more deep breaths, Nivritti reached her bed. Her phone was blaring loudly. She knew whoever was calling her could hear her anguished voice. No matter how many times she gulped, her throat felt like it was choked full of tears and despair and guilt and hatred.
She cleared her throat a few times and picked up her phone. The display read 'JJ'. Why was Jung-Hwa calling her at this time? And why was her laptop on? She squinted her red, burning eyes to look at what was open on the screen.
