Chapter 9 - Foundation Before Ascension

Shreyash finally slowed down.

Not because he was exhausted.

But because he had reached a point where raw grinding was no longer enough.

The System reacted the moment his intent shifted.

> [Level Advancement Detected]

[Current Level: 10]

[Level-Up Method Available: Combat Trial]

Before he could ask, new information unfolded.

> [Boss Classification Unlocked]

A hierarchy appeared before him—cold, absolute, and unforgiving.

Boss Distinction by Foundation

The System explained that bosses were not classified merely by level, but by the foundation of their existence:

Common Boss

Elite Boss

Super Elite Boss

Epic Boss

Legendary Boss

Mythical Boss

Semi-Divine Boss

Divine Boss

Semi-Primordial Boss

Primordial Boss

Foundation determined how much of reality a being could withstand, rewrite, or erase. Level only dictated how much of that foundation could be expressed at a given moment.

Then came the evaluation.

> [Foundation Analysis Complete]

[Current Foundation: Equivalent to Semi-Divine Boss (Level 30)]

Shreyash went silent.

A Semi-Divine foundation at Level 10 was unheard of. For most evolvers, even touching such a foundation would take decades—if it was possible at all.

The System continued, merciless as ever.

> [Warning: Current foundation is unstable.

Further refinement recommended before Level Advancement.]

That single line dragged him down from his rising arrogance.

He understood immediately.

Power without refinement was fragile.

So instead of rushing the level-up, Shreyash made a decision that no normal evolver ever would.

He challenged Divine Bosses.

The Ruined Lightning World trembled as Divine Bosses of Level 25 began to fall.

These were beings worshipped as storm-gods by extinct civilizations—entities whose presence alone could shatter armies. Against them, Shreyash did not rush. He fought with precision, dragging them apart with Absolute Pull, crushing their cores, and fusing their entire existence—body, soul, and origin—into himself.

Each battle refined him.

His foundation became denser.

His Origin stabilized further.

His Soul gained terrifying weight.

When Divine Bosses no longer strained him—

he moved on.

Semi-Primordial Bosses.

Their existence warped space. Their attacks carried echoes of erased worlds. Each fight pushed Shreyash to the edge of collapse—but each victory transformed him.

Not upward.

Deeper.

His foundation no longer merely resembled Semi-Divine.

It began to approach something else.

Something older.

Something wrong.

And then—

the System went silent.

The world darkened.

A massive presence emerged.

It was then that Shreyash saw it.

A Behemoth.

Its body was larger than mountains, its steps alone capable of destroying entire cities. Every movement cracked the world beneath it, lightning bending away from its existence in fear.

The System's voice returned—low, deliberate.

> [Target Identified]

[Boss Type: Regressed Primordial Boss]

[Current Level: 45]

Shreyash's breath slowed.

Regressed.

That single word carried terror.

> [Additional Information:

This entity was once of an extremely high and immeasurable rank.

Cause of regression: Unknown.]

A Primordial.

Reduced.

Bound.

Still strong enough to erase cities by accident.

This was his Level 11 Trial.

And the implications chilled him more than the fight itself.

If Primordial beings could regress…

If worlds like this could fall…

Then the Disaster was not random.

It was engineered.

Or worse—

repeating.

Shreyash tightened his fists as the Behemoth turned its burning eyes toward him.

Power was no longer the only thing he needed.

He needed answers.

Because whatever had started this Disaster it was far older, far deeper, and far more dangerous than monsters spilling out of portals.

And killing this Behemoth would only be the beginning.
