Chapter 84 - chapter seventy seven : I can't focus without his stupid face

Raye stared at the math test paper like it had personally insulted her.

Questions blurred.

Numbers looked like alien codes.

The only thing her brain repeated was: Kyle would've helped me solve this... if he wasn't suspended because of his fists and possessiveness and beautiful jawline and—

" fifteen minutes left!" the teacher called out.

Raye's pencil moved, but it was mostly just doodles in the margin—tiny hearts, a pair of annoyed eyes, and the word idiot next to a stick figure labeled Kyle.

She quickly erase it and started to solve the one she could _ wondering what the HECK was wrong with her ..

Geez is this how people felt when they were in love .

Stupid , dumb and thinking about cute jawline ...

Raye had to stop her self from smacking her sense back into her head ; she screamed focus in her mind like ten times ,shaking her fist .

The girl sitting beside her , looked at like she needed exorcism right now .

Raye sighed as she continue to solve the one she knew , surprisingly it was kinda of easy though time was limited .

And she was just to caught up in the whole Kyle drama it's just two days but it felt like a week ...

She watched movies were the girl would be like she missed her lover and wishes she was with her even though they just met that same day ...and Raye would laugh at her exaggerating .

But now - she didn't think the girl was exaggerating.

He better miss me as much as I do she thought with a huff as she continue to solve the maths question.

By the time the bell rang, she slammed her head dramatically against the desk growling quietly.

' curse you Kyle '

Later – School Café

"Okay, that test just took my will to live," Raye muttered, slumping into the seat across from Jane.

Jane looked up from her smoothie, raised a brow, and popped a fry into her mouth. "I take it you did well? Beside the test was hard , did you see Evan he just kept scribbling and writing like his brain was made from a math textbook ".

"I wrote Kyle's name five times. That should count for something and yeah Evan is a pain in the ass as always ".

Jane laughed. "Girl, you're lovesick. And academically unstable."

"I haven't seen him in two days, his suspension is over so he is coming tomorrow but I can't wait . That's like... twenty-one hours too long."

Jane sipped her drink. "You two cuddled like koalas before he got suspended. You can survive just two days "

"I don't want to survive. I want to thrive. And by thrive, I mean kiss him and make dumb jokes and hold his hand while mocking other couples."

"Maybe you should text him."

"I already did. He left me on delivered."

Jane's eyes widened. "Oooh... now that's shady."

Raye groaned. "What if he's mad again? Or he saw the test scores in his dreams and dumped me from afar?"

"Girl, he's literally suspended for fighting over you. He's not dumping you."

Raye sighed, poking at her tray. "I miss him. I even miss him making fun of my handwriting. And his hoodie smell. And the way he gets jealous over cafeteria boys."

Jane leaned back. "You're hopeless."

"And in love," Raye said, dramatic.

Just then, her phone buzzed. A message from Kyle:

KYLE: Sorry, passed out. Studying sucks. Missed your annoying face today.

She bit her lip, grinning at her screen.

"Speak of the devil," Jane said. "Did he finally text?"

"He said he misses my face."

Jane fake gagged. "Ugh. Disgusting. But also… adorable. You guys are sickening."

Raye smiled softly, texting back:

RAYE: I miss you too, even if I may fail math and my smoothie tastes like sadness.

KYLE: Don't worry, babe. When I come back, I'll fix the math and the smoothie.

Raye looked up, heart full.

Jane cringed she looked like some proud mother _ for a minute she thought Raye would burst into tears _pure joy .

Her girl was gone for good she thought shaking her head with a small smile sipping her smoothie .

"Okay, you're blushing," Jane teased. "Let's go before you start writing poetry about his jawline again."

"Too late," Raye whispered, scribbling Kyle's jawline = Greek statue in her notebook.

The night air kissed Raye's cheeks as she tiptoed our of her room .

She wasn't sure if this was rebellion or just plain thirst for cuddles, but here she was—sneaking to Kyle's house at 10:46 PM, hoodie stuffed in her backpack, heart racing like she was about to rob a bank.

Jane would surely give her an ear full if she found out , but it was too late to turn back now .

Not like she wanted to though , she already made up her mind . Raye stopped in her track taking her backpack as she pulled out her hoodie to wear it because it was getting cold . Packing her hair into a messy short bun she picked up her pace in running .

Forty minutes later Raye stopped at Kyle gate with a sigh as she tried to catch her breath . She didn't want to ring the bell to alert Rod so she texted him .

RAYE: Outside. Open your window like a Disney prince.

She teased pushing the hair off her face while biting her lip .

Moments later, his bedroom light flicked on. The window creaked open, and Kyle's sleepy face peeked out, squinting like he couldn't believe it.

Minutes later she heard the sound of the gate opening quietly before Kyle came into view hair messy and sticking in different direction.

"Raye?" he whispered. "Are you crazy?"

"Obviously." she said with a muttered staring at him before she quickly ran into his arm in a tight hug .

"I missed you, I would have come earlier but Jane said I was being too dramatic and we needed some space , beside you were coming tomorrow " she breathed out rambling ,eyes closed feeling him wrap his hand around her . She slowly raised her head up , not releasing from the hug she asked .

"Where is Rod?".

"He isn't home , he went to visit one of his friend and ended up sleeping over ".

Raye heaved a sigh , she was a little bit shy from the fact that Rod would be around .

"Thank goodness , "

"You walked here?!"

She shrugged. "I missed your face. Sue me."

Kyle chuckled as he led her inside his house. He pinched her cheek lightly while Raye winced with a pout "You shouldn't have done that ..my house is a little far from yours "

She stepped in, and he pulled her into the dimly lit hallway—arms instantly wrapping around her waist like he thought she might vanish.

"You're insane," he muttered, burying his face in her neck.

"You love it," she whispered.

His lips found hers before she could say anything else—slow, hot, desperate. Like he'd been starving for it. And she didn't hesitate—hands tangling in his hair, standing on her toes to get closer, closer, closer.

They finally pulled back, breathless.

"I should yell at you for coming here," he said, voice hoarse.

"I dare you."

He grinned. "You're lucky I'm suspended, or I'd march you right back to school and kiss you behind the lockers."

She grinned right back. "You're lucky I brought this." She said shaking the black hoodie which swallowed her whole form with a grin .

He blinked. "Is that mine?"

"Nope. It's mine now. You can cry if you want."

He stepped forward, cornering her against the wall. "You stole my favorite hoodie and snuck into my house. I think that's grounds for eternal punishment."

"Like what?" she whispered.

His voice dropped. "Like staying. All night. With me...and doing stuff " he said running his nose through the side of her face before pulling her body closer to his , he squeezed her butt cheek a little ,earning a starttled gasp from Raye .

She blinked. "You're so possessive."

He leaned closer. "I don't like boys looking at you, Raye. I don't like not being there. I don't like missing you. So yeah. I want you right here."

Her cheeks flushed. "I can't stay all night…"

"Then stay as long as you can. Even if it's five more minutes. Just don't go yet."

That did it. She nodded softly.

He led her to his bed, pulling her down beside him, wrapping the blanket over them like they were in their own little world.

She kissed his jaw. "I missed this."

His arms tightened. "You're mine. Hoodie-stealing, test-failing, attitude-having mine."

She laughed. "You're ridiculous."

"You love it."

"I do," she whispered honestly.

He smiled against her hair. "Good. 'Cause you're not leaving until I say so."
