We reached the huddle around whoever it was that was injured. I felt their pain as my own, radiating through me. "Is this part of being Luna?" I asked Sinlan in our mental link.
"Yes, their pain will be your pain." I didn't mind; it was my role to protect them. Any healing I did would have this side effect, so it wouldn't be any different except letting me know right away when one of my pack members needed me…one of my pack members; this was my pack, mine.
The crowd moved, and I saw the woman on the ground screaming, it was a pack member with long red hair, and tan skin. "Sarah, try to breathe!" I heard Brine say from next to her.
"What happened?" I asked as I kneeled next to her. I let my energy began to pull, no more hiding, it was my natural energy, my full energy. My pack deserved to know their Luna.
