Chapter 7 - CHAPTER 07

"Oh? So you're the holy father here, executing people for their sins?" Su Yan asked mockingly.

"I'm going to kill you, bitch!" the man shouted angrily as he walked toward her with his baseball bat raised high, ready to strike.

Su Yan looked at him coldly.

Without hesitation, she pulled a gun from her space and fired.

BANG!

The bullet pierced the man's head.

He collapsed instantly.

The other men gasped and stared at Su Yan as if they were looking at the reincarnation of a devil.

"Who else wants to kill me?" Su Yan asked calmly, raising the gun again.

"No one?"

The men who had been arrogant just moments ago were now trembling.

They could clearly see that this girl was not joking. She could kill them without even blinking.

"You murderer!" one of the men shouted angrily. "I'll tell the police you killed someone, and I'll make you pay for—"

BANG!

Before he could finish speaking, another gunshot rang out.

The man fell to the ground lifelessly.

A bullet had pierced his head as well.

His eyes remained wide open as his body lay motionless on the floor.

The remaining seven men were shaking uncontrollably as they stared at the young girl in front of them.

They had never imagined that someone so young could be so ruthless—killing living people as if they were nothing more than chickens.

"Does anyone else want revenge?" Su Yan asked calmly, her gun still raised.

The remaining men shook their heads quickly.

None of them dared to speak.

They were afraid that saying the wrong thing might get them killed.

"Then why are you still standing there?" Su Yan said coldly.

"Scram."

The men didn't wait for her to repeat it.

They ran away in panic, as if zombies were chasing them.

Once they were gone, Su Yan turned to look at the children behind her.

All of them were staring at her.

"Scared?" she asked.

Fu Leng shrugged.

"Not really. They were trying to kill us too."

The little girl looked worried.

"Won't you get caught if they tell the police later?"

Su Yan looked at her.

"So what did you want me to do?"

The girl answered seriously.

"You should have killed the witnesses too and not let them run away."

The two boys turned to look at her as if she were some strange alien.

Su Yan was momentarily speechless.

"You…."

"What?" the girl said innocently.

"Don't you know that the dead tell no tales?"

Su Yan blinked.

"Are you sure you're eleven?" Fu Leng asked Huang Nian suspiciously.

"I'll be twelve at the end of the year," Huang Nian replied proudly.

Su Yan looked at her with amusement.

"Who taught you about killing witnesses?"

"I saw it in a movie," Huang Nian said happily.

"The movie with Jack Sparrow. He said, 'The dead tell no tales.'"

"Not bad," Su Yan said, patting the little girl's head.

"Not bad at all."

Fu Leng looked confused.

"Aren't kids your age supposed to watch cartoons?"

"They're boring," Huang Nian replied immediately.

Su Yan shook her head slightly.

"Alright, we should leave this place."

Just then, her eyes landed on Huang Nian's trolley.

She froze for a moment.

The trolley was completely full.

But not with food.

It was filled with candies, chocolates, and snacks.

Su Yan slowly raised an eyebrow.

"Seriously? Candies?"

Huang Nian nodded confidently.

"You said it's the end of the world."

"So there won't be candy factories in the future."

"There will be a shortage of candies."

Su Yan stared at her.

"No," she said slowly.

"There will be a shortage of food."

She emphasized the last word.

Huang Nian crossed her arms stubbornly.

"Yeah."

"And candies too."

Su Yan sighed helplessly.

Without arguing further, she stored all three trolleys inside her space.

"Alright," she said.

"Let's get out of here."

A loud crash echoed outside the supermarket.

Several zombies had been attracted by the earlier sound of breaking glass.

Groans filled the hallway.

"Grrr…."

The men's who were watching from a far faces turned pale.

More than ten zombies were now approaching the entrance.

Su Yan sighed.

"You see?"

"This is why noise is dangerous."

The zombies rushed inside.

Chaos exploded instantly.

"Kill them!" someone shouted from a far .

Su Yan stepped forward.

BANG!

Her pistol shot destroyed a zombie's head.

Another one lunged toward Huang Nian.

CRACK!

Su Yan smashed its skull with her bat.

Two more zombies rushed toward the angry men.

Screams echoed as the men tried to fight them off.

Within seconds, three zombies were already dead.

Su Yan grabbed the children.

"We're leaving."

More zombies were approaching from outside.

Su Yan fired another shot.

BANG!

A zombie collapsed.

"Move!" she ordered.

The children ran toward the parking lot.

Two zombies blocked their path.

Su Yan stepped forward.

CRACK!

CRACK!

Both heads shattered instantly.

Finally, they reached the car.

The children quickly jumped inside.

Su Yan threw the bats into the back seat and started the engine.

As the car sped away from the mall, distant screams echoed behind them.

The apocalypse had only begun.

And the true struggle for survival was just starting.
