This was undoubtedly the truth. After all, no matter how ambiguous the relationship between 'Hei Fan' and 'Morning Forgotten Language' in the game was, and no matter how obsessed Motan's 'absolute neutrality' persona was with Yu Chen, the two couldn't really be considered as dating. Though they had possibly found themselves in a situation that was more than friendship but not quite a romantic relationship for various reasons, it was still not enough to call it a relationship.
And if nothing unexpected happens, judging from Motan's mental state, it's unlikely he would ever establish a relationship with Yu Chen in this life. Even though he's not exactly oblivious, he can vaguely feel that she isn't opposed to him and might even have some special feelings for him. But he knows too well that with his 'incurable condition', he can't give any girl happiness.
