A couple more days have passed since our last significant quest, as usual we were doing a few random quests all around the city but we slowed down when a man came up to us and said "hello".
I looked at the man a little bit confused at who he is, I look over to geralt who had the same expression on his face as me and just shrugs at me.
I turn back to the man and say in a questioning tone " yes how can we help you?", he was dazed for a second but realise his mistake and said " ah yes I forgot to introduce myself, my name is Vincent and I am the city's manager or the city's helper, I am in need of monter slayers to help me with a problem that has beennplaging the city for a few month, and seing you do all these quest I thought why not try asking you".
I smile at him and say "haha well of course you can hire us, we do this for a living and as long as the pay is good and we wont die, we will take on almost anything".
Vincent looks at us and says " yes unfortunately this job is a quite dirty since it would require you to enter the city sewers" I look at him and say " that is not a problem as long as we are getting paid but if you are talking about the sewers then there must be a nasty monster down there".
he replies " I wouldn't hire you if it wasn't dangerous, that thing had small tentacles, we sent 6 men and none returned", geralt looks like he has eaten an ass and said " a zeugl, from you description a baby, so thank god we came before it became an adult".
I look back at Vincent and say " ohh this is gonna cost you metric shit ton , a zeugl is a terrifying monster that grown in sewers eating anything from garbage to corpses, an adult would be able to kill a witcher quite easily , 2 witchers would have a hard time dealing with an adult, so pray to your god and hope that it's a baby"
Vincent looking terrified just says in a worried tone " money is not a problem can you deal with it" looking at his expression I smile and say "of course we can, yes an please sign this" as I was saying that I pull out a paper and use magic to write the conditions, he looks at me a little confused.
I looked back at him and said "this is just a way to protect ourselves and guarantee our money, the last time we worked for a mayor he wanted to have us arrested on accounts of murder" he looked at as and then signed the paper without much hassle.
we asked him for the sewr map and he gave it to us with an x marking the monsters location, after a little bit more talking we whent on our way and headed toward the sewer entrance.
after walking for 20 minutes we finaly reached an open area, as we entered that area a jiant head popped out of the ground and we were surrounded by what I could only assume to be tentacles.
as soon as we saw th wat moving we both got into our fighting stance and soon we each got atacked by a tentacle, as u got attacked I partied with my sword and then sliced it clean of, considering this was a child its flesh was not very hard.
a couple more tentacles popped up but we felt with them rather quickly, as soon as new ones stopped appearing I switched my sword to a spear and ran toward the head plunging my spear into it.
unfortunately for me before I could penetrate it, the monster dived down into the water only for a couple more tentacles to appear and I started thinking 'were the fu*I are they coming from'.
as we finished dealing with the tentacles he head popped buck up, this time not taking any chance I created a spear and sent it hurling towards it.
fortunately my spear penetrated deeply and the monster made a shrieking noise, geralt took this opportunity and ran towards the shrieking head and completely sliced it in half.
I glanced at it with my wisdom divinity and after making sure it was dead approached it and dropped it into my sanctuary to be digested.
we whent back to the surface and headed toward the inn, when we reached our room geralt and I had a bath in a tub filled with water I made using transfiguration and elemental magic.
after washing ourselves really good for 30 min because we stink from the sewers, we got dressed and headed toward the city hall, after reaching it we asked for directions towards Vincent and met with him in his office.
after meeting with him we spoke a little about how difficult the fight was and we thanked all gods that it was still a baby.
we talked a little bit more before getting paid and leaving his office and heading back to our inn, I played a few games of gwent and drank a bit before heading up to the room and resting my head on my bed.
a few more adventures and I will be as good as geralt at combat with weaponry I have also notice that my blood has reached 55% silver and as I noted earlier the stronger my blood the longer it would take to grow unless I get a source of many that is extremely concentrated, unfortunately this world holds no such thing.
