Bastian was amazed and stunned at Rico's bond with his Absol, yet he remained determined to win this battle. "Okay, but I won't be bogged down by that thing!"
Then to Whimsur. "Whimsur, use Fire Punch!"
"Wait, what?" Rico responded to this with shock.
Whimsur then regained its focus and balance, charged at Absol, and used Fire Punch, punching Absol with a fiery fist.
But Absol dodged that, and Rico got his chance and commanded it. "Quickly, use Night Slash!" Absol then used Night Slash, slashing Whimsur with dark and fast auras. This caused a lot of damage and pain to Whimsur, who was blasted a few meters away for the second time, much to Bastian's shock.
"Night Slash?!" Bastian was shocked.
As Absol landed on the ground with serious action, Rico said to him, "Yup, that's Night Slash for you."
Rico then thought, "I didn't know a Whimsur can learn Fire Punch…"
But again, Bastian remained determined and commanded Whimsur, "Whimsur, use Mega Kick!" Whimsur then regained its focus and balance again, charged at Absol, and used Mega Kick, attacking Absol with a kick launched with muscle-packed power.
But because of its sheer and sudden determination, Absol dodged it, and Rico commanded it. "Use Dark Pulse again!"
Absol did so and then used Dark Pulse on Whimsur for the second time, releasing a horrible aura ray imbued with dark aura energy.
Whimsur got struck hard, who was blasted a few meters away for the third time; only this time, it was defeated by it, much to Bastian's shock.
Thus, Rico and Absol won the second round of the Pokémon battle with Bastian.
Only now, Absol had a thing for winning battles, or is it?
