Chapter 16 - The Tao Dynasty, A hidden mountain

Eastern continent.

2 Months after the last Hydra fell, millions of Cyclops overwhelmed the final bastion of defence and slaughtered the surviving Beastmen.

These Cyclops ranged in realms from the weakest Master level to dozens in the Protector realm, completely outclassing the Beastmen in numbers

Without much choice, the various tribe leaders decided to work with central continent's sects and dynasties in order to evacuate as many Beastmen as possible, whilst warriors held the line for time.

Although the tribe leaders knew they would face severe racism, as well as slavery in central continent, they had little choice. Knowing this, the upper echelons of the Cyclops invaders seemed to quicken their pace and charge forward. Both Protector realm Beastmen warriors fell in battle holding the line, leaving their race without backing and into an inevitably bleak future.

Only a week later, the entirety of Eastern continent fell into the hands of the invaders, much to the glee of the three Venerables watching on. More than 700,000 refugees of war escaped into the central continent, some took in by sects, others sold to slavery, few gaining a respectable position in a dynasty.

Splintered, the race could only gather their strength and attempt to retake the continent in the future.

The highest surviving tribe leader of the Beastmen race, had said; "The war has been lost, our people will suffer, but one day, in the future, we will March to retake our land!"

Throughout the war, the Demon Tribe did not appear once.

——

Watching from far above in the silent void, Tao Jue was expressionless.

Although he did not expect the invading army to be of such a high level, he was never one to underestimate his enemies. The Eastern continent was more or less organised to drive out the main force, allowing mortals of the four directional continents and islands to understand the enemies battle strength, and plan appropriately. He also understood that the demons and angels had influenced and secretly created factions amongst the mortals on each continent and allowed it. This was normal, since he had allowed his subordinate Gods to grow in power through Faith, and thus needed a significant following. There was even a 'Church of Light' in Central continent that was amongst the supreme powers of the world, ruling over numerous dynasties and sects, as well as Demonic sects and tribes colluding with evil to raise their strength and cultivation.

Although some would consider letting this happen to be wrong, he had no moral compass to determine this. Perhaps because he had lived for so many years, or the fact that these worlds were his creations, he did not side with one or the other, allowing demons and angels to wrestle for control over the mortal world. The reigning factor to ensure they didn't go overboard was naturally God, as he was created to be impartial and essentially an independent faction of his own, with his own interests. He even controlled the ferrymen of death, as Tao Jue had not yet created Anubis nor any other Gods. The forces of Hell and Heaven naturally could not afford to be on the wrong side of someone determining how many souls are distributed to factions.

Thinking of the chaotic situation, Tao Jue sighed. Although he could not directly influence the battle unless he intended to waste his creation power, he could indirectly raise the strength of the next battlefield; central continent.

Making up his mind, he squinted his eyes at the large continent and found a small uninhabited mountain close to the Eastern side of Central continent, around 600 kilometres from the shoreline. This shoreline was likely to be the first battlefront between continents.

'This place doesn't look so bad' Tao Jue thought, diving into the mortal world.

Yao Dynasty, Eastern Central continent, Imperial palace

Sitting on the throne within the main hall of the majestic imperial palace of the Yao Dynasty, was a man in his middle forties with strong vitality and an imposing aura. Eunuchs and ministers alike were feeling uneasy, kneeling before this Emperor.

Behind the emperor were his royal children, the princes and princesses of the Tao Dynasty. There were seven princes and three princesses, one of the princes had a downcast look as the rest of them sneered in his direction.

At this moment, the emperor spoke "Its been weeks since the invaders took over Eastern continent with ease, intelligence has been reported today that they have started shipbuilding and took over the Beastmen smithies. This is against our expectations that they were a crude race with low intelligence. Their movements clearly suggest these giant beasts are able to think as humans do. The other Sects have simply moved further inland, towards the centre of the continent, whilst we cannot flee. Too many mortals rely on us for protection and would not be able to start a new life so easily, they would be fated to die. I need ideas! At most, we have a few months before a full scale invasion occurs!"

Hearing this, the ministers clenched their fists in worry. The minister of war and minister of finance fought consistently in the royal court, but had came to a consensus prior to this meeting with an agreement. Both parties thought the same.

Speaking, the minister of war stood up "Your majesty, we only have two options. Our strength simply isn't sufficient to block or achieve victory against this invading army, we either request for reinforcements from the other four dynasties inland, or we take as many of our people as we can and migrate. Although many of us will die, some will survive! It is enough to be alive."

Siting down, other ministers nodded their heads in agreement. This army was simply too strong, not alike rival dynasties or mortal battles.

Suddenly, a shout was heard. "Dog! You think the Xia, Fan, Li, and Song royal clans will give us a chance? We will be stabbed in the back in retreat if we place our trust in them! I say we fight! Who says they are strong just because they killed a few beasts? Is it so difficult?" He sneered in Distain

The one that spoke was the first prince, the crown prince of the Tao dynasty. He was a genius in martial arts, reaching the Core Formation stage at just below thirty, but lacked awareness and intelligence. Many ministers secretly supported other prices due to his flaws.

Hearing this, the emperor sighed. "Li-er, the intelligence has already proven the existence of dozens of protector realm powerhouses in their army. This is equivalent to the Dharma realm in our Central continent. Our Yao dynasty simply cannot compare, as we only only have two ancestors within that realm in isolation.
