Chapter 22 - Sibling Love

"The one that finally woke up after years of emotional hibernation."

Lina grabbed the nearest pillow trying to hit him with it but Chris quickly escaped.

He dodged with a dramatic gasp. "Violence in this household?."

"You deserve worse."

Chris laughed sitting down on the couch and leaning into it

"Okay seriously what is your reply going to be?."

Lina glanced at phone before sighing softly.

"I still have two weeks to thing about it."

Chris stared at her "He just asked you out for a date and not for your hand marriage."

"And?" She crossed her hand defensively. "A first date is important."

Chris burst out laughing.

Lina rolled her eyes a small smile still appeared on her lips.

The room became quieter as exhaustion was finally catching up to her.

She let out a soft yawn before rubbing her eyes tiredly.

Chris noticed. "You're okay?"

"I'm exhausted." Lina admitted quietly. "Today was already too much."

Her brother's teasing expression softened instantly.

"Then stop overthinking and go to sleep."

Lina pointed accusingly at him. "That's exactly what I was going to do before you started interrogating me."

"I was being supportive."

"You mean you were being nosy."

"Supportively nosy." Chris corrected

That made laugh a little despite her tired eyes. She took her bag climbing the stairs to her room she suddenly stopped turning to look at Chris.

Seeing this Chris raised one of his eyebrows at silently asking what the matter is.

"Chris?."

"Yeah?." He didn't like the sound of her voice.

"If you dare to contact him behind my back I'll expose you middle school karaoke videos."

Chris froze completely.

"You still have those?." He asked carefully.

"I have backups."

That's actually very evil."

"That's siblings love." Lina replied with a sweet smile before waving at him and climbing the stairs.

Getting into her room, Lina put her bag on the table, taking her shower, she put on her nightwear before jumping on her bed and burying her head in her pillow.

Thinking about what Dave message she immediately replied

Sure no problem. See you tomorrow.

She pressed send and buried her head in her pillow trying to hide a smile.

Meanwhile across town Dave sat alone in the back sit of a luxurious black car while his driver quietly focused on the road ahead.

The city lights reflected against the window beside him but Dave barely noticed.

His attention was completely fixed on the phone in his hands.

Specifically….

On Lina's chat.

For the past twenty minutes he had been waiting anxiously for a reply.

He thought about texting her again but didn't want to sound desperate.

Dave let out a frustrated sigh and leaned back against the leather seat.

How was talking to one girl harder than handling a board of meeting with grown bussiness men.

His phone suddenly buzzed.

The sound startled him so badly he almost dropped it.

Dave immediately straightened up and looked at the screen.

Sure no problem. See you tomorrow.

For a moment he completely froze.
