Chapter 48: Were Trapped
---Hokage Office---
Hiruzen, Homura, and Koharu were sitting with frowned faces, only Danzo, who was standing, told them about what had happened to him earlier at the Uzumaki gates.
"I can't believe they dared to stop me," Danzo was still complaining about what happened to him earlier.
After a while, he saw his friends had all gone quiet and he suddenly remembered about the intruder. Looking at their frowned faces signaled something bad.
'Did they have evidence I was the one who helped the enemy to destroy the Uzumaki Clan?' thought Danzo. He swallowed his saliva before asking them, "What happened to the Uzumaki Clan?"
"The intruder is someone who possessed Wood Kekkei Genkai," said Hiruzen.
Danzo was so shocked that everyone in the room could see it. Hiruzen, Homura, and Koharu exchanged glances, wanting to confirm if Danzo had a hand in it.
"Wood Style?" asked Danzo. Hiruzen nodded.
"Danzo, we are suspecting you are the one who did the experiment of Wood Style," said Hiruzen didn't want to play another words with him.
"What do you mean I was the one?" replied Danzo, shocked. Even though he had done many experiments but he had never done Wood Style experiments.
The corpse of the First Hokage was heavily guarded and he needed the approval of Hiruzen to get the sample. It was impossible to do it alone without his permission.
Danzo became angry when his friends suspected it was him. The three looked at him without a word.
"How dare you suspect it was me? To get the sample of the First Hokage without you noticing it, do you think it was possible?" said Danzo.
Hiruzen was like someone who had just woken up, because the logic Danzo gave was something that he could not refute. Meanwhile, Koharu and Homura looked at the two of them.
"Enough, Danzo. If it is not you, who can do something like an experiment with the first Hokage corpse?" asked Koharu.
"I am not. Just ask Hiruzen if there is any Root ninja who broke into the tomb of the First Hokage," replied Danzo.
"He is right, Koharu. I didn't receive any report from the Anbu," said Hiruzen.
"But who else can get a Wood Kekkei Genkai?" asked Homura.
"Remember what Lady Mito told us? The Wood Style was not made or experimented from the First Hokage," said Hiruzen.
"Wait..." Danzo was flustered hearing this information. "Wait a minute... do you mean someone managed to do a research about Wood Style experiment and sneak into Konoha territory?"
"Yes, Danzo. That is why we are suspecting you were the one who did the Wood bloodline experiment," replied Koharu.
"I told you it wasn't me... I never did a Wood Kekkei Genkai or even extracted something from the First Hokage," said Danzo. "Now that is not important. What is important now is where the corpse is. We need to secure it."
Everyone became silent hearing Danzo question.
"What happened?" asked Danzo again after they didn't say a word.
"The Uzumaki Clan didn't trust us after what happened to their village. They wanted to investigate and also do the research by themselves," replied Hiruzen.
"And you let them do whatever they want?" asked Danzo in disbelief.
"We are being threatened. Even Homura and Koharu agreed with me," said Hiruzen while looking at his friends.
"Yes, we agreed with him," said Homura.
"Do you have a solution for that, Danzo?" asked Koharu.
"Just take them away. Why are you afraid of just a small clan?" said Danzo.
"We can, but they all will leave Konoha. All the seals that they developed will stop instantly, they won't sell it anymore to us and we can't do anything about them even if we had the guards blocking them, because they will not leave through the door but will vanish with Reverse Summoning Jutsu," replied Hiruzen.
Hearing this, Danzo became silent. He didn't have any idea to fight the Uzumaki Clan, what Hiruzen told him is ultimatum that even he cannot do anything.
"This... This..." said Danzo before being cut off by Homura.
"That is why we didn't have any choice other than to agree with them. Their clan was not formed in the First Hokage era, so they didn't have any loyalty to Konoha, and we can't blame them. What they want is their safety," said Homura.
"What did Lady Mito and the other Senju say?" asked Danzo.
"They have confirmed, it didn't have any connection with the First Hokage cells. We also have checked it, and we can confirm that they spoke the truth," replied Hiruzen.
"Maybe they changed it," still Danzo wanted to deny it.
"Weren't we with the sensei when he did the experiment in the past? We all noticed how different the First Hokage chakra was and now the three of us can confirm that this was not the genetic material from the First Hokage," replied Hiruzen.
"Will the Uzumaki pass the corpse to us after they finish investigating it?" asked Danzo again. Now he wanted to acquire the corpse that didn't belong to the First Hokage.
"Nope... they only said they will take the corpse," replied Koharu.
"Arghh... you guys will regret agreeing with them," said Danzo frustratingly.
"We don't have a choice, Danzo," replied Hiruzen.
Danzo, who didn't want to hear any more of their words, decided to leave the room.
"It looks like he had left," commented Koharu.
"You guys can go back," said Hiruzen.
Koharu stood up and leaving the room, followed by a shadow behind her.
Her husband are the Anbu who took care of her safety in the room. A moment later Homura also left the room leaving Hiruzen alone in the office.
In Koharu house, her husband asked Koharu.
"Eventhough, Im not an elder in Konoha but my advise don't trust Danzo too much," commented her husband.
Koharu looked at her husband and smiled, "Thank you for your words."
"It is a duty of husband to make sure his wife are safe but let me tell you again, I don't trust Danzo," her husband still try to open Koharu eyes.
