Chapter 2 - Chapter – 1

Early summer morning,

The sunlight sweeped in through the window into the room and landed on a little silhouette covered in blanket.

A little frown appeared on her forehead as it seems she is disturbed from the sunlight falling on her.

The door creaked open and hushed whispers fell into her ears as she slowly fluttered her little eyes open.

"Happy birthday Keerthu" came three cheerful voices which bought happiness to the one in the bed.

Sruthakeerthi jumped from her bed into the arms of her parents and hugged them. Today is her special day as she is turning ten. She couldn't contain her joy and was eager to know what presents she would be receiving.

She tilted her head as she asked "Mama, Dada where is my gift?" curiosity filled her deep brown eyes which expressed her eagerness to know what her parents are going to gift her.

The two adults, one with jet black hair, gentle eyes, thick eyebrows, sharp jaw line, thin lips, broad shoulders and six foot tall man named Kovela Vishwanath smiled while staring at his daughter who is eagerly waiting for her gift , while the other with long shiny black hair loosely braided , deep brown almond shaped eyes ,heart shaped mouth, button nose, with slender figure named Kovela Vaishnavi chuckled seeing her daughter.

There is another person in the room who appeared like the junior version of Vishwanath is her brother Kovela Sri Krishna, who is eight years older than her.

"Don't be impatient, get ready first. You will receive your gift soon!" said Vaishnavi smiling mysteriously at her daughter.

Soon they chased out her brother and father outside the room. Vaishnavi helped her daughter to get ready, by the time Sruthakeerthi finished her bath she bought a pretty hue blue dress with little butterflies designed near the left side of the dress.

"Wow! The dress is so pretty" exclaimed Sruthakeerthi. Vaishnavi smiled and dolled up her daughter, she braided her deep brown hair to the side with star shaped clips on the left side, a matched pair of teardrop earings and a little silver chain hung on her neck. "You look so pretty" her mother complimented her.

Later they went out of her bedroom and came down. "You look like a little doll, Keerthu" said her brother Krishna while pinching her cheeks.

"Don't pinch my cheeks, I don't like it" Keerthu retorted in an irritated voice. And soon they started their sibling's quarrels to which their parents shook their heads at their non- stop bickering.

Vaishanavi soon interrupted them "Don't you want your presents Keerthu."

"I want them momma" Keerthu said turning away from Krishna who is enjoying seeing her irritated.

Vaishnai and Vishwanath giggled seeing their children and soon bought a basket beautifully wrapped in silver and blue ribbons complimenting the brown basket. When they placed it on the little table placed in the hall near to the sofa the gift was visible for the little girl who was tiptoeing impatiently to know what was inside it.

A snow-white furry sight came into her visibility. "A pup! Yay !" exclaimed Keerthu jumping in delight to get a pet on her birthday. All the ruckus that she was creating fell into the ears of the pup as it woke up from its slumber and laid its silvery bluish moon like eyes on Keerthu who was jumping around happily.

As soon as the pup opened its eyes Keerthu was mesmerized by them, they looked like jewels shining like stars in the dark sky and it's snow white fur further complimented it adding on an additional charm to it.

The parents were happy to see the kid love the present she received.

Krishna took the camera and started recording everything since the beginning from when she received the gift.

Vishwanath helped Keerthu to get close to the pup while Vaishanavi went to prepare the cake.

Krishna soon placed the camera elsewhere to continue the recording automatically and say beside Keerthu who was bonding with the pup.

Soon the pet and it's master Keerthu became close. Vishwanath was happy on seeing this and said that she could name him. This bought a shocked and magnimous smile to Keerthu's face as she started wondering what to name him.

Krishna on seeing her troubling her little mind for a name started to help her. They soon went on listing different kinds of names fit for a pet dog.

After 2 hours of serious discussion and searching for a name even while having their breakfast...

"Neiger Mwezi!" Shruthakeerthi exclaimed the name excitedly and even the pup seemed to like it as it wagged it's tail happily while staring ant Keerthu with sparkling eyes as if it understood it.

Krishna was having a confused expression as he was curious to know what the name meant and where did she get the idea to name it hat way. The same went for Vaishanavi except Vishwanath as he already knew it because he had seen her searching these names for a while.

Filled with curiosity Krishna asked Keerthu " how did you get that name?what does it mean? from which language is it? How did you think of this name?......" He was babbling all the questions non stop.

Keerthu cut short him and said while describing the pup's features" The pup has snow white fur, so the first name that I wanted to was something relating to snow but snowie was a common name so then I went on to think for it and the thought of naming it for its eyes struck my mind as it's silvery bluish eyes remind me of the moon, but even that did not feel unique enough to me so I went on and searched for the snow and moon in different languages and came across this one I combined the names of snow and moon from french and Swahili, Neiger means snow in French and Mwezi means moon in Swahili. This name sounds perfect and describes the little one perfectly".

On seeing Keerthu's excited eyes while explaining Vaishnavi was surprised as her daughter keeps on getting better and better in the talent of describing them in words not so common for kids her age.

Realisation finally dwelled on Krishna as he received the answers for the questions that popped in his mind and appreciation appeared in his eyes after knowing how she thought of naming the pup.

Vishwanath soon intrupted their moment and said that there was another surprise waiting for her. This made Keerthu's eyes sparkle as she turned to her dad. On seeing the excitement in the eyes of the little one Vishwanath went to grab the car keys and led all of them to the garage where the car was parked and soon drove them out.

The car came to a halt near the beautiful lake, filled with many flowering trees near to it. It was an amazing view worth seeing. Everyone was mesmerized with the view only one word can be seen on their faces 'Wow! Amazing!' except Vishwanath.

"Daddy ! This place is beautiful and mesmerizing! Wow!" Keerthu exclaimed with mesmerization appearing in her eyes the same goes to Krishna who was equally mesmerized with the beauty of the nature in front of him.

Krishna and keerthu then went to play..

Vaishnavi turned to her husband to ask how he had found such a beautiful place.

To which Vishwanath said, " It was a while ago when I was stressed out regarding the experiments in the lab I drove out with no particular destination when I came across this place. It's mesmerizing view helped in revealing all the stress then whenever I was in bad mood I would come here for a small break and that's how I got to like this place even more, it feels so fresh here."

"Yes indeed it is fresh here."said Vaishnavi accepting what Vishwanath said as it was fresh and had a breathtaking view.

All of them had a little picnic as they celebrated keerthu's 10 th birthday near to the lake.

Keerthu cut the cake and blew the candles which was lit on the creamy chocolaty cake beautifully shaped like a flower.

She first fed the cake to her dad and later her mom then later when she fed the cake to her brother , he applied cream on her cheeks and she also did the same till their face was filled with cream and they continued to have fun, while Vaishanavi and Vishwanath say down and relaxed themselves watching the view till evening and the pup laid down beside them.

When it was late and the sky got even darker as the stars and moon shone brightly Vishwanath called out to his kids so as to return home. Before leaving they all took a picture to save this beautiful memory.

Soon they drove home and Everyone retired to bed early and arranged a little bed near Keerthu's bed where Mwezi can sleep.

Everyone bid each other goodnight and slept soundly as they were all tired.
