Chapter 45 - THE PATH TO THE SOUTHERN CITY.

Go ahead, Agareth, I want to stay here a little longer. I've always loved looking at the stars.

The old man looked at him with a little suspicion and nodded, saying, "Don't do anything strange, this is a sacred place!"

Tylos looked at him with one eyebrow raised and said, "Whatever you're thinking, I won't do it!"

Despite being inside the barrier, the sky was perfectly visible. Tylos remained silent for several minutes, gazing at the sky, until he said, "I think you're mistaking me for someone else!" He looked directly into the colossus's empty eye sockets and added, "I am not the one you showed me in that vision." The head of that colossal corpse moved, rising slightly and looking down at Tylos from above, with just a small light visible in the hollows where his eyes had once been.

"Don't look at me like that. I'm telling the truth,"Said the young man.

"Your mind doesn't remember it, your eyes haven't seen it, and your heart doesn't seem to feel it, but I'm not mistaken in what I see in you, boy. You are my lord... not in the same form, but in the same spirit," thought the great Wolf to himself as he eagerly approached and gently touched the young man's forehead.

A great roar sounded throughout the place, and all the black wolves were stunned as they witnessed the scene upon leaving their huts.

The colossal skeleton was slowly moving, standing up, its organs and tissues all beginning to grow again from its head down the length of its body, covering itself once more in a great black coat of fur that covered the mountain down to its foothills.

At the top of the summit, Tylos was perplexed by what had happened, for when he touched its body, the great skeleton came back to life as a being of flesh and blood.

I think this way you can understand me better, said the colossus, who could now speak clearly and not just with his thoughts. The time has come for my offspring to leave this place. The fact that you are here and I have returned to this form is proof. Look beyond the veil; that green light is a prelude to what will happen in the future. This place will only last under my protection a little longer, but I must eliminate those who hunt them so that they can leave.

Tylos turned his gaze to the sky, but he saw nothing. The great wolf had told him so many things at once that he didn't understand, causing him to digress for a moment, breaking his lethargy with a voice that whispered from the darkness of the night.

"So, you noticed, great black wolf! This is the first time I've seen you awake," said Vahl, his silhouette becoming visible through a hole in the veil. A deafening howl came from the great wolf, his gaze piercing. Vahl prepared to attack, and Tylos prepared to face him, but the great black wolf pushed him aside with his nose.

"I wish you were the real one and not a crude vessel, so I could repay you in full for what you have done to my home, what you have done to my daughter," exclaimed the giant, fury in his eyes.

Vahl laughed, saying, "Oh, this is new, you are quite perceptive! It is the first time anyone has seen through one of my avatars! But soon his smile disappeared as he felt everything begin to shake. Magic in the form of a dense fog covered the wolf's thick black fur, projecting bonds of darkness that held Vahl back. His face paled as he saw the jaws of the great beast open and bite him, throwing him skyward at a dizzying speed. The jaws lit up with a ray of light and darkness that came out of its mouth and seemed to disappear into the sky, vaporizing the infamous Vahl almost instantly.

It's the only thing I can do for you with my power diminished in this way, but I'm sure you won't see it for a while.

The wolf rose from his bed and grabbed Tylos in his jaws, and with one movement he placed him back in the village, causing a huge wind with his movement that almost blew away the flimsy huts. Aisha came out immediately when she felt her father's strong presence, and he looked her in the eyes, making her unable to hold back her tears. She ran to embrace her father's face, that immense titan with such strong breath that the tents in the village moved every time he exhaled.

"Agareth," said the great wolf,

"We must talk. You will come with me, my daughter." So he took them in his jaws and carried them to the top of the mountain. A few hours later, the old man came down from the mountain. He did not say a word, but hurried to his hut. Although the others asked him repeatedly what their king had said, he remained silent.

Aisha stayed with her father for several days until Tylos decided to go back to the mountain. Although he knew that the wolf could hear him from wherever he was, he wanted to say goodbye to him and to the girl, as he was about to set off again on his journey to the city in the south.

"So, you're here," said the wolf, his voice echoing throughout the place, but for some reason, the boy felt warmth in his words.

"I've come to say goodbye," he said. "I've taken advantage of your people's hospitality long enough. It's time for us to leave and continue on our way. You've done enough for us by getting rid of that nuisance. I'm grateful to you."

Aisha, who was asleep on the thick fur of the great titan, opened her eyes to find Tylos standing in front of her.

"IT'S TIME, MY DAUGHTER."

I am grateful to you, my friend. You saved my most precious treasure. I would like him to be safe under my wing and watch him grow even more, but that is not what his mother would want. He must see the world, but from his own perspective, without anyone else's influence. That is why I have decided to entrust you with this task... I am sure he will be of great help to you on your journey. Are you looking for answers? She will help you find them.

Wait... wait... WAIT! Don't impose your will on me just like that. I can't take her everywhere with me as if I were her father. That's your job," said Tylos, a little heatedly.

Aisha knelt in respect to Tylos and said, "I won't be a burden, I promise. I'll help in any way I can during your journey. Please allow me to fulfill my father's will."

This is too unexpected," said the boy with doubt in his eyes. He walked in circles, scratching his head for a moment before looking into the eyes of the great wolf. Then he accepted without objection. It was not intimidation or threat that he saw in her eyes, but hope and determination.

An impressive howl came from the wolf's jaws, causing the wind to swirl at the top of the mountain. the surrounding forests stirred after a long time, and tiny spheres of light rose from the earth, surrounding them completely with an enormous halo. Immediately, that light concentrated in his mouth, culminating in a soft breath toward his daughter and the boy. NOW YOU HAVE MY BLESSING!

I would like you to stay longer, but the wind itself tells me that you must leave as soon as possible. Tylos, I pray that whatever you are looking for, you will find it in that city. but you must be careful. It has been a long time since I could see beyond this domain, but now that I have regained a fragment of my power, there is a shadow looming in the direction you are traveling. You must be cautious in that place. The gears of the world are beginning to turn again after so long.

My lord, I have brought them as you commanded! said Agareth, appearing at the summit of the mountain alongside the other members of the company.

The old wizard stepped forward, unable to hide his excitement at seeing such an immense creature that defied even the most incredible stories he had read since childhood.

Quickly, everyone knelt before the great black wolf in a sign of respect and admiration.

"RISE!" said the great wolf. "My friends, I have not called you here to be submissive in my presence. My gratitude for accompanying my offspring to his home rests upon you until the end of my days. I understand that you will now travel together, so I must do something for you. For what you carry on your back, boy, the cloak made from the hair of my beloved will be more than enough. We will have to weave a sheath for that "weapon." The wolf stared intently at the boy's unsheathed hilt, seeing beyond what the others could see. "This is dangerous," he said, "but for some reason, this artifact must accompany you. I believe so."

On the other hand, you, the crimson-haired elf, come here, I have something for you, replied the wolf.

A sphere formed on the ground and black hair appeared from it. It is not sacred like my beloved's, but it will be more than enough for what you need. I can see clearly what ails you.

 Agareth!

YES, MY KING!

Let his cloak be made with this hair, with it he will be able to walk among the others without harming them, his presence will not be discovered with it on, there is someone watching his steps, and I do not want them near these boys.

At your command, my Lord! exclaimed Agareth, bowing. He raised his hand, forming a dark sphere, from which golden threads and sewing needles of the same lineage suddenly emerged. He quickly sat down and began to make a cloak from head to toe for Alexa. Its quality was such that it could well be the envy of any king of a great kingdom.

Tylos watched in amazement, filled with excitement and intrigue, then held the handle wrapped in the white cloak like a child comparing one toy to another.

Calm down, said the big black wolf, with a faint smile, it's not as simple as it seems. Without my presence, Agareth couldn't weave the garment because she gets her thread directly from my vital energy to weave.

It wasn't my intention, said the young man, quickly understanding why it wasn't possible with the garment they had given him, to which they bowed their heads as a sign that he shouldn't feel guilty.

The faithful servant, however, took the white cloak and, with the thread from Aisha, slowly and with unparalleled delicacy, wove the sheath for that mysterious sword.

But as you can see, Aisha has the strength of both of them, so it is possible to do a job as majestic as her mother would have wanted," said the great wolf.

As for you, my fellow magicians, I believe that having looked through the books in this village may not have been the most productive thing to do, as we are not scholars or anything of the sort.

Therefore, here are some companions for you. They could well be your eyes in the deepest darkness when there is no light, and they will guide you.

He then blew on them, and an amulet in the form of a necklace with an embedded sapphire appeared around the old man's neck, and quartz earrings appeared in the young sorceress's ears.

And for you, little one, this moonlight ring. I am sure it will be very useful to you in times of distress.

Now, my friends, may this ceremony be the beginning of a round trip, for as I see you leave today, I hope to see you return. Your questions wander in my mind, each of you seeking answers to your anxieties, and I am sure that the path you will travel together will help you find yourselves.

The great wolf howled, the forests shook as if the trees were about to be torn from the earth, a wind so strong that even in the great city to the south it was felt with great intensity.

The great corridor has been opened, your path to the city will be safe, rest assured that no monster or person with malice will approach you.

"NOW GO, MY CHILD, SEE THIS WORLD WITH YOUR OWN EYES AND JUDGE FOR YOURSELF THAT YOU MUST DO WITHIN IT. YOUR MOTHER AND I WILL ALWAYS BE WITH YOU, NO MATTER WHAT HAPPENS."
