I heard the commotion before I saw it.
My heart raced as men started to yell and run past the room I was in, barking orders to one another. I could only make out some of the words but I gathered just enough to piece together that it had to be my men.
I struggled feebly against the thick binds around my wrists, wincing slightly when the metal further pressed into my raw skin.
Things were about to get ugly. I needed to get out of here and fast.
I lifted my head and watched as men continued to rush past my room. I felt desperation well up inside of me as I looked at my surroundings. If I tilted too far, I would fall on my side and be even more immobile. The panic threatening to burst from me was starting to become difficult to press down.
I breathed in through my nose, long and deep, willing myself to once again think about Bianca and the precious baby she was carrying inside of her that was half me.
