Chapter 370 - Chapter 370 - The Strength of the Namikaze Family.

[Chapter Size: 2300 Words.]

Third Person POV

Konoha, 43.

...

...

Minato left the bathroom after using the shower with a towel over his shoulders, rubbing his wet hair.

He wore casual clothes as he entered the kitchen to see how things were going.

There was Hanabi, sitting with one eye closed in concentration on a chair, as if she were meditating.

Kushina was preparing dinner. Mikoto was helping her, while Itachi was in a stroller. Tsuna was also there, holding her daughter in her arms and playing with her.

There were two more children at a corner of the table, a little nervous.

"Are you going to stay for dinner?" Minato asked naturally.

The children looked at each other, not knowing what to say.

Since they saw the fight between Minato and Hanabi, which did not last long, after the blows exchanged to the point of creating a mass of destruction in the sky, they returned to the Namikaze residence. The two children were quite nervous.

The confrontation had frightened them greatly, especially when the explosion in the sky could be seen by a large part of the Land of Fire — and all of that being just a simple exchange of blows between the two.

Obviously, they had exaggerated and decided not to continue, returning home while Sakumo led several ANBU squads to check what was happening around the Namikaze property, while Sakumo went to Kushina.

Minato still remembered the grimace they made when he arrived and simply said they were doing a training demonstration. After that, he had to attend a meeting to explain the situation. The Village was quite disturbed upon discovering that each of them possessed abilities capable of releasing energies as destructive as a Bijuu Dama.

That was frightening to everyone. Even knowing that Minato was far beyond the common level, no one expected him to have as much destructive power as an entire Bijuu, in human form — much less that Hanabi had demonstrated even more power than in the battle against the nation of stone on the west side of Uzushiogakure, where she had acted from the beginning against Oonoki's forces, or even that she had demonstrated such power at any other previous moment.

Minato let Sakumo handle the situation with the Village, especially considering that spies could be watching Konoha and would now know what his family was capable of.

Returning to the present, Rin and Obito turned their gaze to Minato drying his hair with an empty look in their eyes. Clearly, they were still not very comfortable with what had happened.

"You shouldn't traumatize your students," Tsuna saw this from the side and snorted.

"They're just not used to it," Minato retorted in a carefree tone.

He approached Itachi, taking him out of the stroller while the baby stared at him curiously.

"I hope this doesn't happen with our children," Tsuna murmured, still sulking, while Minato poked his eldest son's little body.

"Do you like seeing explosions too, little one? Seeing explosions leaves any man impressed, happy and satisfied.", Minato declared, playing with his son, who responded with excited squeals.

He then turned his gaze to Tsuna. "See? He seems to love it."

Tsuna rolled her eyes, but said nothing.

Rin and Obito ended up staying for dinner, although they spoke little. Afterward, Minato took them home using Hiraishin, teleporting them to the center of the Village, to the closest point to where they lived.

"Thank you, sensei, for today," they murmured, still a little lost.

"Well... it seems our training was a failure. Next time, we'll focus more on you. I wanted to show how elite jōnin fight, but we overdid it." He admitted.

"That fight in the sky... was it really a level above the Kages?" Rin murmured.

"You could say that," Minato shrugged.

"Damn... I wanted to be Hokage..." Obito muttered, in a bad mood. "But this..."

Minato touched his head with a calm gesture, like a teacher consoling a student.

"Don't be discouraged. When I was your age, I already had an idea of the power the great legends possessed. Uchiha Madara and Hashirama Senju were so powerful that I felt like an ant before the image of them at their peak. But that didn't discourage me. I only found even more determination in the difference between our powers. I wanted to reach that level... and I did. And I also helped those close to me do the same. Managing to reach the peak we have today."

He looked at the two firmly.

"You may never reach exactly that level, but, with a teacher like me to draw out all the potential each of you possesses, you will certainly become ninjas known and respected throughout the world in the future."

The two stared at him with a new expression, different from before, since they had seen him fight against Hanabi. There was surprise, pride and hope there.

Obito said nothing. He just kept looking, a little shocked by that statement. Rin seemed equally surprised, but decided to break the silence.

"You speak as if you were our teacher beyond the academy." She murmured.

Minato merely opened a smile and crossed his arms in front of them.

"Well... who knows? We can't predict exactly what the future holds for us. Anyway, I'll see you tomorrow in class."

With those words, Minato disappeared, leaving the two children walking to their homes while sharing a silence heavy with thoughts about everything they had witnessed that day.

"Do you think we can reach that level?" Obito murmured.

He had always been enthusiastic, but now he was in a dilemma. What he saw that day was far beyond what he imagined a ninja's strength to be.

"That is the strength of the most powerful shinobi in the world..." He added, looking at the starry sky.

"That's something impossible," Rin murmured.

As they walked through the busier streets, they began to hear people commenting about the explosion.

"My husband found out that today's explosion was caused by Minato and Hanabi Namikaze fighting. Can you believe that?"

"What do you mean fighting? Was it a quarrel between husband and wife?" another asked, shocked.

"No, no! The neighbor said they were training. It has nothing to do with marital matters!"

"That's even crazier! You're saying they simply created that thing that made the entire Village tremble and almost outshined the sun... just for training?"

"I heard the Hyūga clan is in an uproar right now. They say Hanabi used some kind of evolved Byakugan that no one knows how she obtained."

Obito and Rin kept listening to the Village's gossip while the images of the fight were still vivid in their minds and would not leave anytime soon.

The next day, Minato entered the academy, and the gazes of the children, the teachers and even the parents turned toward him. He did not care. There was respect and fear mixed in those expressions.

Konoha was not in the battle of the 4 nations against Uzushiogakure and had not seen his true capabilities, despite hearing about the nations' reports and descriptions in the bingo book. Unlike the night of the civil war, when he killed Danzou in the shadows before facing the Hokage without displaying all his power, what happened recently was public. And the confrontation against his own wife left everyone truly shocked.

The children in the classroom were tense as Minato began the lesson. Rin and Obito were no exception.

The D-rank jutsu they had been learning before seemed incredible to them. But now they knew that it was nothing compared to their teacher's level. Even though Minato showed satisfaction with every small achievement of the students, knowing that he had the power to destroy an entire village was... strange.

Rin had always thought she was at her limit for being able to execute jutsus that no other child their age could. But what she saw the day before opened her eyes to a new horizon.

The days went by, and when the initial shock began to fade, the Village seemed to observe the Namikaze family even more closely.

The Hyūga, in particular, were quite tense. They almost begged for answers about the secret of the Tenseigan. They even tried to meet with Hanabi's grandfather, who still lived with the Uzumakis, in the same house near the Namikaze residence. It was the clan house that remained under Minato and his family's possession within the Uzumaki clan, never taken from them and not used by anyone else while the family was not present.

But all the Hyūga's requests to meet with Hanabi's grandfather were refused. Even the Uzumaki blocked any attempt at approach by direct order of Minato.

Hiashi approached Minato at a certain point. Minato at least owed him a favor, for having revealed the secret of the seal that helped accelerate the process of removing the mark on Hanabi's forehead.

It was he who gave the name to Hanabi's special eyes: Tenseigan.

The name began to circulate constantly among the Hyūga. They started searching documents and records, inside and outside the Village, in pursuit of any information about those eyes. But Minato knew that no record of that name existed. Hanabi was the first to awaken that power in the history of this world.

Not even Kaguya had developed anything similar, even with all her absurd powers.

The days continued to pass, and Kakashi returned from his mission after a week away. As soon as he arrived, he heard rumors about an explosion in the sky that illuminated half of the Land of Fire, as he passed through the towns before returning to Konoha.

Some said it was a natural event. Others claimed they were gods, until then unknown, enraged with humanity. There were those who spoke of a battle between bijuus. Mainly, those more familiar with the First and Second Great Ninja Wars whispered even darker theories. And, among discreet murmurs, Minato's name was also mentioned.

Kakashi did not know what to think.

He returned to the Village during the night and went straight home. Regardless of what had happened, there were few people better to explain the situation than his father.

"You're back, son," Sakumo said calmly, already waiting for him.

There was food ready, and a separate plate on the small counter. Kakashi removed his sandals and sat on the futon.

"You must be tired. Hand in the mission report tomorrow," Sakumo spoke naturally.

"Aren't you even going to ask if I completed it?" Kakashi questioned, casting a suspicious look.

Sakumo merely smiled faintly. "I know you did."

Kakashi remained silent for a moment. "So... have there been some things happening in Konoha?" he murmured.

"I imagine you're talking about the explosion."

"You seem very calm about it, father. What happened?" Kakashi asked carefully.

"Minato seems to have overdone it while demonstrating some abilities during training with one of his wives. Can you believe he managed to replicate a power as destructive as a Bijuu Dama using kenjutsu skills that I taught him a few years ago?" Sakumo said.

Kakashi's eyes widened in surprise. Sakumo continued.

"I know that boy surpassed me in the art of the sword a long time ago. He can unleash explosions that even I recognize I will never be able to reproduce."

Sakumo knew that Minato possessed S-rank jutsus and explosive abilities related to light. But the explosion that illuminated the sky was something beyond what he had imagined. It was a power that exceeded expectations.

Minato seemed like a Bijuu in human form, creating explosions with simple sword slashes.

"If we were already surprised to see him kill two Kage and defeat thousands of ninjas at the same time in the battle in Uzushiogakure, according to witness reports, we were, in the end, mistaken if we thought that was his peak. In just a year and a half, he has grown even more powerful..." Sakumo commented.

But there was no envy in his voice.

He was not like the old elders. He knew very well how despicable jealous behavior and the attempt to preserve political power above all else were. Sakumo had been a victim of that... He himself had not even officially assumed the position of Hokage, acting only as a temporary leader until the most suitable person took the hat.

Sakumo believed that, unlike the suffocating surveillance and restraint promoted by the elders, the Village would prosper by encouraging and giving people the freedom to become stronger.

That was how great geniuses emerged and flourished.

As Konoha grew, that was how it should be. Minato himself had already given his opinion about it.

"Is Lord Minato still an academy teacher?" Kakashi asked. He could not imagine someone of Minato's level teaching children whom he considered untalented compared to himself.

"Yes. In fact, graduation will take place soon, and you will enter a team," Sakumo replied.

Kakashi seemed surprised by that.

"Besides, I want you to go to the Namikaze residence tomorrow afternoon. He asked me for you to go there when you arrived in the Village. And you already know where his house is," Sakumo added.

Kakashi said nothing, only nodded.

How could he forget where Minato's house was? It was there that he received the Chidori jutsu, developed by him. And it was also there that he took a punch from Minato when Kakashi disrespected his own father back then, due to the Village's criticism.

Minato had always been a mystery.

Kakashi, by nature more reserved, asked no further questions. He simply went to sleep, planning to hand in the report in the morning and discover, in the afternoon, what Minato wanted with him.
