"Heyyyy, your late yet again Rai, and this time you had to bring Shin into it." Fu said with a birght yet sarcastic smile on his face. "Fuck off." I replied. "Thanks to my speed we are only late by 1 minute, I say it is Shin's faul-" I looked where Shin was, who has dissapeared yet again. 'Oh, wait. I forgot he is trying not to stand out. If people saw us associate then they would know we are friends.' I realized, and Fu's expression made it look like he had the same thought.
"Uhh, you two know each other?" A sharp voice rang from behind me. Me and Fu both snapped our heads in the direction of the voice, and when Fu saw the person, his expression softened. "Oh it's just you, Yamaguchi. Yeah, we have been close friends since we were little. His name is Gushiken Rai." Fu introduced while pointing to me.
"Hello, I'm Yamaguchi Yuta. I am Fu's roomate." The boy said with his hand out. I shook it and introduced myself. Eguchi has slick black hair, that reminds me of Shin's back when he was a kid, and his hair wasn't so long. He had orange eyes, and from a simple look you could easily say that he was one of those fiery passionate types. 'And another pretty boy.' I thought to myself while I looked at his perfect face.
"Fu, you have a weird addiction." I said with a sigh as I turned around. Fu just looked at me with a confused look, before realizing what I meant. When he was about to shoot back at me, I started talking again. "I heard Shin is in our class too, so we should get going." Fu nodded than followed after shooting back with a joke about how much I fail to get girls, while Yamaguchi followed with a confused look, probably wondering who Shin was.
...
We entered the Auditorium, which was in the main building. We saw Shin, and was about to talk to him, when Me and Fu realized we had a third wheel with us. 'Shit..' Then suddenly, Shin turned around and noticed the two of us. I was expecting him to turn back around, but he isntead walked up to us, and greeted us. "Yo." was all he said, with his hand up. Me and Fu almost had a heart attack when we realized he actually is associating with us.
"Hold on Shin, why are you talking to us. Didn't you want to keep a low profile by not associating with us?" Fu asked while I remained a statue, in complete confusion.
"I can just use the excuse of, 'We are classmates, and I was trying to get along with them, since I could sense they were strong, and didn't want to get on their bad side' excuse." He responded. "Plus, for now, nobody knows you guys are strong except me."
Fu turned around and pointed at Yamaguchi. "Then what about hi-" he started before Shin cut him off.
"You guys should get better at sensing aura and energy fluctuations. He has a mass amount of Earth energy and a huge enough aura, that I realized he was one of you." I smacked my head in realization, once Shin stated this. 'Forgot, he might be weak, but his senses are on point. He can sense energy fluctuations from across Japan if he tried hard enough.' I looked back at Yamaguchi 'So he is the Ea-' I started in my head before I was snapped out of my thoughts by a booming voice coming from the stage.
"Hello students! I am your school principle, and a member of the government, Yamada Wazuki!" His voice rang through the students ears, and some of them had to cover their ears, the four of us included. "It is so nice to meet all of you and.." he continued while scanning briefly over the students. And I swear the geezer looked at us for a bit longer than the rest of the students. 'Well he did say he is from the government. He can probably sense it.' I thought quietly to myself. He continued his speech, about how excited he is for this year, and how he feels teaching newer generations, and how important it is to follow the rules, blah, blah, blah. "And that is all I have to say. For the rest of the day, you can look around campus, for classes, and the resteraunts and cafes and such. You can go shopping at clothes store or you can play a sport. So, I will see you students again tomorrow, when I have a break." The principle finished, while walking away from the podium. The students and teachers in the auditorium started to applaud him, and once he was gone, the claps started to fade away. The teachers quieted the chattering students and dismissed us one row at a time, starting from the back. Once our row was called, we got up and head out from the auditorium.
...
"Hey so Yuta, what's your number?" I asked, as we arrived at the first year boy's dorms. Yuta turned his head as he looked at me.
"Your calling me Yuta?" he asked with a confused look. 'I guess he hasn't figured it out yet. It is a good thing that we are alone so I can talk to him about it.'
"Well, let's just say we are old aquaintences. Also I feel stupid not realizing when hearing your first name as Yuta. I forgot about that sorry." I told him, while stretching. Yuta raised a brow at me. 'Looks like he understands what I am trying to say, but doesn't believe it yet.' I sighed while thinking about it. I glanced at Shin. 'It is for sure a good thing that he knows about this secret, or we would be in deep trouble.' I had the urge to sigh again, but held it in. I leaned close to Yuta's ear and whispered "You know I know. We are both guardian spirits. I am the lightning one, and you are the earth one." I pulled back and Yuta's eyes widened for a bit, before returning back to it's original form.
Then he sighed, "I had a feeling, but I didn't want to believe it. But I guess it makes sense. If you two used your real first name, then everyone would know who you guys are." He pointed at the two of us. Then he shifted his gaze to Shin, and pointed to him. "So, Rai, your the fire one, Fu your the wind one, I'm the earth one, and I personally know the water one. So is he the dark or light one? Or did you just reveal our secret without noticing Shin." Yuta asked us.
"Well, I actually completley forgot about his existence, because he is so quiet, but the truth is he has known for a while. I became a guardian spirit at five, whilst Fu became one a seven. You and our cold brother both became one when you guys were nine and ten. Shin has known about us being guardian spirits, since all three of us used to live together." I answered. Yuta's expression showed relief on it, and then put on a knowing look. 'He decoded it. Guess the rumors are true about all the Yaksha's being smartasses. Of course me and Fu aren't exempt from this.' I thought to myself. 'That's good.' I took a quick glance at Shin.
...
The rest of the day we took either resting at our dorm, training a bit, or shopping and going around finding our classes. After we were done, we once again retreated back to our dorm rooms. Shin and I immediatly started to meditate. 'I can't believe they didn't know what this was. It was selling for only 500 Yen.' I thought to myself while I started to eat the herb, and Shin was already cultivating it. 'This will give me a major boost on the road towards Super Affinity.' I thought to myself. 'If I can get my hands on another one of these, then I might be able to break through by the end of this year.' I took my seat, after I took my herb. The energy flowing through my body was so intense that it felt like a demon was slowly skinning my entire body. 'How the hell is Shin okay.. Nevermind it kind of makes sense.' The herb we used was called ulphiora, and it looks like a normal leaf, but the stem is blue. There were ten, so we bought half of their supply, after we had Shin check to see if the Water Yaksha was even in school yet. Yuta didn't know, since after the Yaksha Meeting a year ago, they split up. We were going to buy seven, in case the light or dark Yaksha were here, but Shin either wasn't strong enough to sense them, or they just weren't here. 'I heard rumors that the pain was intense, but if I were a human, I might have died from this thing.' I thought as another wave of pain overflowed my body.
...
That thing continued for another fifteen minutes. After we finished cultivating, we finally took a serious look around our room. I found some sort of manual thing that had the words "World's Best School! A Guide to the International Energy Nurturing High School!". I cringed at the sight, and threw it to the trash. 'I know it's the best school in this worlds, but that is just not okay.' The truth is, this is the best school in the world, but not by a lot. This is because parents complained about sending their students overseas for school from different countries. So they had to make an advanced energy highschool for almost every country. Small countries, like Eswatini, didn't have one, and had to go to one of the neighboring countries. "Rai!" Shin yelled, while kicking me between the legs in order to get my attention.
"FUCK, BRO WHY THERE." I yelled and rolled on the floor in pain. 'Thank god he held back.' I was secretly thinking to myself. "COULDN"T YOU JUST USE WORDS?" I asked Shin who stared down at me pathetically rolling on the floor. 'Even though you held back, it still hurts.'
"I did, I called your name 53 times. I even gut punched you, but you spaced out so much that you didn't feel it." he said. He helped me up, and I gave him a quick gut punch, but Shin saw it coming and already covered his body with energy. I let out a sigh.
"What the hell did you even want?" I asked him. He showed me his phone, which looked at, and saw that we got a text from Fu, in our group chat, that he and Yuta need to talk about something with us. "Let me rephrase that, what the hell does he want?"
A/N: The Guardian Spirits are also called Yakshas. There is one for the six main elements, being fire, water, wind, earth, light and dark. Rai called himself the lightning one because he uses a divine element, being lightning. Divine elements are better versions of an element. If you watched pokemon, then think of it as a evolution. A divine element being the evolution of the pokemon, which is the main element. Rai is the fire yaksha, but he uses lightning so much more, so he is called the lightning yaksha by everybody. More information about how energy works, energy elements, and the yakshas somewhere in the next couple chapters.
