He tried to tell himself that it was just his imagination, that there was nothing out there, but he couldn't make himself believe it. He knew that something was waiting for him in the darkness, something that wanted to kill him.
He forced himself to open the door and get out of the car, but he couldn't make himself go any further. He stood there in the driveway, frozen in fear until he heard the sound of something moving in the darkness.
He turned and ran, but he knew it was too late. He could feel the thing chasing him, could hear its footsteps pounding on the pavement. He knew it was only a matter of time before it caught him.
He tried to scream, but no sound came out. He could feel the thing's hands closing around his throat, choking the life out of him. He knew he was going to die.
He could see the thing's face now, and it was nothing like a human's. It was some kind of monster, come to claim another victim. He kicked and thrashed, but it was no use. The thing was too strong.
As he felt his life slipping away, he saw the monster's mouth open wide, revealing rows of sharp teeth. Then everything went black.
