Sitting in the car, Margaret gazed at the scenery outside the window. Three years had passed, and all traces of girlish innocence had vanished from her face, making her even more beautiful than before.
However, a hint of weariness now rested on that stunning face. Spending two months at sea was simply too exhausting. Right now, she didn't want to do anything but get home quickly and take a good, long bath to relax.
The scenery outside changed rapidly. When the iron gates of the Governor's Mansion flashed by, Margaret knew she was finally home.
"Child, how was it? Was everything smooth with your island inspection?" Karita greeted her with a smile.
"It was okay, just a bit tired from being on the boat. Mother, I want to take a bath."
"Alright, alright. The water's already drawn, just waiting for you."
Margaret, her hair pinned up, lay in the white ceramic bathtub. She closed her eyes, feeling the water slowly glide over her as her exhausted mind finally began to relax.
