Standing on the gently swaying deck, Charles gazed at the faint, blurry lights in the distance, a relieved smile appearing on his haggard face. No matter what, they had finally arrived at Shattered Heart Island.
"This… is all… thanks to… the Great Power's… protection… His servant… saved us…" Bandage dropped to both knees, devoutly bowing toward the sea.
On the other side, Linda pressed her hand to the white triangle on her forehead, muttering under her breath. It was obvious she had her own explanation for their escape from peril.
But Charles disagreed. From what he'd learned from the giants, they had been lured here by something—some creatures that swam very swiftly underwater. What exactly they were, they hadn't seen clearly. Yet no matter what, it was impossible that they were messengers sent by their gods; the gods of the Abyss-Sea were never so kind-hearted.
