The academy was an academy, after all. As a place dedicated to nurturing people, its atmosphere was distinctly shielded from the clamor of the outside world.
Walking through gates that resembled the Arc de Triomphe, Charles immediately noticed how out of place his fierce appearance was among the students. It was as jarring as dropping a wolf into a flock of sheep.
And as expected, he quickly caught the attention of the "shepherd dogs." "Hey, you! Stop!"
Three men in black uniforms approached him. Their expressions changed the moment they caught the scent of the sea on him.
Before they could call for backup, Charles produced the gear badge. "I'm looking for Professor Koch."
Soon, Charles was led before a teaching building. Unbeknownst to him, the number of security personnel accompanying him had grown to more than a dozen.
