WHOOSH! A cannonball wrapped in black flames flew over Charles's head and slammed heavily into the large shed behind him, leaving a gaping hole that continuously spewed black smoke. The impact immediately elicited cries of alarm and screams from the islanders inside.
Those were cannonballs fired from the Deep Divers' sunken ships. Although it was unclear what they contained, they were dangerous and lethal. The Hope Island Navy would not just stand idly by. From the coastal batteries to the steamboats at sea, they swiftly swiveled their cannons and began to attack the sunken vessels.
In the icy seawater, as bubbles rolled to the surface, more and more sunken ships began to rise. In an instant, the entire sea descended into chaos. Gunfire and cannon fire were incessant, and the islands surrounding Hope Island erupted with activity.
