Looking at the long queue outside the photo studio, Charles had no desire to wait. Of course, he could have used his status as Governor to cut the line, but doing so would have been too demeaning.
Glancing around, he pointed to an old artist in front of an easel. "There are too many people over there. Let's just have him paint a portrait for us instead."
Lily tilted her head in thought before finally nodding in agreement. "Alright, then."
The old painter, who was missing a front tooth, saw the potential business and grew very excited. "Sir, rest assured, my paintings are more lifelike than photographs, and they're cheaper, too—only 100 Echo."
After inspecting his easel and brushes, Charles nodded and gently guided Lily to the stool in front of him, gesturing for the artist to begin.
Unexpectedly, Lily suddenly ran over, pulled Charles to the stool, sat him down, and then promptly plopped herself onto his lap. "Sir, you may begin now."
