"What? Is your God here to have a friendly chat?"
The Pope smiled and shook his head, saying to Charles, "Of course not. What I mean is—"
Charles suddenly held up his hand to interrupt him. He pulled out his pocket watch for a glance, then stood up and walked straight out. "I don't have time today. Come to my ship tomorrow morning at ten, and we'll have a proper talk."
"Hey! Why are you—" Before the Pope could finish, Charles had already dashed out.
The Pope's words had set off all his alarms. He seemed to be probing for information about the Earth's surface, and Charles couldn't just answer him outright. He had to come up with a way to handle this.
Who knows what the Pope and that Light God behind him are really after. If they're planning to invade the Earth's surface, then I'd rather not go back.
However, just as the Pope had started speaking, a solution suddenly occurred to him.
