When Charles climbed a rope ladder to the Airship's deck, he got his first clear look at its massive structure.
Three five-hundred-meter-long airbags formed the upper half of the Airship, with two giant, submarine-like cabins suspended beneath them. A slender steel bridge connected the two cabins, and standing in the middle of it was the Pope, dressed in an exquisite white robe.
As Charles stepped onto the swaying bridge and saw the Pope's haggard face, his heart skipped a beat. I have a bad feeling about this.
A bitter smile touched the Pope's wrinkled lips. "I'm sorry. I tried everything I could, but that door won't open."
"How can it not open? Then why did you bring so many people and ships this time? For a vacation?" Charles's brow furrowed slightly.
