The Narwhal was still speeding across the surface of the ocean when suddenly, everyone on board sensed something was wrong—the gravity around them had grown heavier.
When Charles looked out the window and saw the vertical city suddenly appear, his heart skipped a beat.
The enormous, semi-transparent worm had materialized without anyone realizing it, completely enveloping the ship within its body. The huge worm's head slowly turned above them. Over a hundred hate-filled red eyes glared fixedly at Charles.
"Bandages…" Charles shot a glance at his first mate, who instantly dropped into Charles's shadow and began swiftly drawing the special inscription from before.
Charles didn't want to return to that utterly loathsome state. But for the sake of the entire crew, he dared not hesitate. He had to call upon the uncontrollable force within himself.
Just then, a swirl of black mist appeared at the junction between the wall and the floor, only to vanish again in a blink.
