Chapter 1206 - Land Appraisal

Astra PoV

Lounging on the hammock, I pursed my lips and drank in the beauty of the river bathed by the silver rays of the moon above, catching myself just after a long while spent thinking about nothing in particular.

Even right now I had no idea what I had been thinking about, so I just shrugged and swung myself off of the comfortable swinging bed and stepped closer to the river, enjoying the serenity of everything before turning back towards all of our land.

With the finalization of everything coming through for our lands getting merged, I was able to tear down the wall separating Renna's land from ours and get to work plotting things out, which would take me quite a long time to get set up the way I was going to want everything... especially when my wants changed constantly.

Renna also had a bit more land than we had, so it was a little more than just doubling what we had now; if anything it was getting close to being 2.5x larger in total, which was rather absurd to think about, especially if I could get everything situated via the System.

Farms that produced an egregious amount of food didn't require that much space for us, so that left quite a large amount of land above ground for me to use for whatever I wanted, whilst the entirety of the underground was just waiting to be excavated and utilized.

Perhaps I could indulge my desire to see an ocean of wheat or some other grain dominating a large swathe of our land, or perhaps I could have Kalia work her magic and maintain a large orchard that bore all sorts of fruits.

We could expand our wine making efforts manyfold, whilst the option for any other sort of edible goods was there too; we could also make space for trees specifically tailored for woodcarving and the like for Camara, or turn a large piece of land into a training area to help keep everyone's fighting skills honed.

The possibilities were endless, and the ideas just kept coming to me as I slowly walked from one side of my new bathhouse to the other, basking in the moonlight and enjoying the soft breeze against my naked body.

Everyone was inside once more, and with the moon as high as it was I knew I was going to be alone again for quite some time, but that was appealing to me now, especially when I knew that just a little while from now I was going to be popping out five - well technically four - babies.

That Lamia egg was completely unknown to me and there was a lot of questions I wanted to ask Prixisia, but since she was asleep now to I just shelved them for later, though that also reminded me that I was going to need a plethora of open space underground in preparation for any additional people who prefer those sorts of living conditions.

But first I needed to start preparing to tear down the earth wall that Rhefia had erected between Renna's property and ours, giving me even more questions since I had no idea how to go about creating something fortified without showing too many cards to those that might be watching.

What could I replace this with inside of a reasonable timeframe and within a reasonable grasp of what I was capable of procuring on such short notice..?

I couldn't just whip out hundreds or thousands of perfectly chiseled stone blocks that were enchanted with all sorts of protections... right..?

Stopping just at the wall, I chewed on my lip for a moment before shrugging since that was actually not entirely unreasonable with someone like Rhefia in the family; Earth Magic could be used to alter the shape of stone to a certain degree, and empowering it with just raw mana would be more than enough to withstand most natural weathering and even most basic attacks.

It would also provide me a wonderful excuse to excavate a large section of my land for an underground area, which I could explain to be either a storage area or a bunker... really it would just be one of many different hubs to connect everything underground, but it would be the perfect cover for that to happen.

Plus all that dirt would need to go somewhere, and having an Earth Mage crush the sediments into rock and then shape said rock into workable stone blocks to be used for a defensive wall... I was something of a genius, wasn't I~?

Feeling much better about everything, I just tore down a small piece of the current wall and stepped out onto the land that had once been only Renna's, feeling a little giddy as I took in all of the trees and such that were already here.

Her little getaway from the city was no longer 'needed' since she was pretty much living with us permanently, so we could take these trees down and clear everything up before replanting more trees elsewhere to keep up with all of the various rules and regulations and whatnot.

The cabin would stay because obviously it held memories for her that involved more than just me, whilst the wine storage that we made for her way back when was still useful too; if anything that could just become an entrance into the underground network since it was already dug into the side of her hill.

There was so much to do and I had so little time, but with how undecisive I was currently I just opted for the things I knew I was going to build, like the extra housing and another hall for us to gather at and spend time in a larger group.

Plus there was all of the farmland that we were going to have, another dock just to have multiple of them for whatever reason we might come up with, as well as some idea on what I could do for some more specialized buildings, like an Alchemy Lab or a Forge.

I also really needed to travel to the other property next to the city walls sometime soon and get those farms really up and running, though as soon as I thought about it I knew that should be something that Kalia and Inik work on together... something to get that cocky Hawkkin seriously thinking more about the collective rather than just herself and Kalia.
