Aiden shifted his attention and saw three hundred names listed on the surface of the Golden Monument. The names belonged to young people who had the qualifications to participate in the Hidden Dragon Competition.
Among these people, the weakest was a Level 1 First-tier Star Warrior.
"Are these the top ten?"
Aiden glanced at the top row of the Golden Monument. Ten names were written there in shiny golden characters. Almost everyone's eyes were fixed on them, full of respect.
Aiden curiously looked at the name ranked first. Dylan Lydall's name was purple gold. Among the 300 names, his name was the most dazzling. He was also a Level 9 Blue Spirit Star Warrior and the contestant who was most likely to win the championship.
Aiden frowned slightly and nodded. This Dylan was truly impressive. At only 28 years old, he had already reached the level of a Level 9 Blue Spirit Star Warrior. His talent was undeniable. To put this into perspective, his father, the Lord of Star City back on Earth, was merely a First-Tier Star Warrior in his mid-forties, yet even he was considered a renowned genius. Dylan's achievements at such a young age were nothing short of extraordinary.
"There's actually a Golden Monument here. Roy, should we go and take a look at our approximate ranking in the South Prefecture?"
Two young men slowly walked towards the Golden Monument. When people saw them, they started discussing amongst themselves.
"Aren't these two from the Green Star City of the East Prefecture? They have also come to our Red Dust City."
"Yes, they are from the Heavenly Eagle Association. The stronger one is called Roy Cruz, and the other one is called Wan Cruz."
"Roy is pretty strong. He is already a Level 4 Blue Spirit Star Warrior at the age of 26. As for Wan, he is weak."
"I heard that there are four geniuses in the Green Star City of East Prefecture. All of them are very strong."
"The four geniuses are no longer here. There are only two people in Green Star City now."
"Two people? What's going on? Where did the other two go?"
"They are dead."
"Dead? What the f*ck? How? When?"
"No one knows how or when they died. All that's known is that the two of them went out to gain experience. While they were in a town called Fresh Breeze Town, they heard news of something happening in the Valley of Death. The valley is owned by the Olsson Family, one of the overlords of Fresh Breeze Town. However, the Olsson Family wasn't strong enough to stop two geniuses from entering the valley.
Once they entered, they never came back. Their families sent many people to investigate what happened, but no answers were found. Everyone who entered the Valley of Death never returned."
Fresh Breeze Town?
Valley of Death?
When Aiden heard these words, he was stunned. It wasn't because he recognized the names of places.
No!
The names of these places were completely unfamiliar to him. He had no idea that the place where he had obtained the Golden Dragon Pearl was called the Valley of Death. Nor did he know that the Valley of Death is located in Fresh Breeze Town and is owned by the Olsson Family, one of the town's overlords.
Aiden was completely unaware of these facts, but it still attracted his attention.
He attentively started listening to those people's conversation. Unfortunately, those people stopped talking.
Under everyone's gaze, Roy Cruz and Wan Cruz slowly walked toward the golden monument.
"Roy, let me go first."
After speaking, Wan walked to the Golden Monument, raised his right hand, and placed it on the monument's surface. He was a First-tier Star warrior which is also the lowest requirement to leave behind their name on the Golden Monument.
"Can Wan enter the top three hundred? I think it will be a little difficult. After all, he is just a First-tier Star Warrior!" Roy muttered silently.
Wan, on the other hand, took a deep breath and injected his energy into the golden monument. The golden monument remained motionless and showed no reaction.
Seeing this, Roy couldn't hide his disappointment. Because the golden monument was a symbol of strength, anyone who could leave their name on it could be recognized as an extraordinary genius, earning not only fame but also the opportunity to receive guidance from powerful experts and gain access to rare resources, if caught their eyes. At the very least, they could definitely become famous.
Failing to leave a name meant missing out on this once-in-a-lifetime chance of becoming famous, which was why Roy's disappointment was palpable.
Seeing no reaction from the Golden Monument, Wan gathered all the Star Energy in his body and poured it into the Golden Monument.
Immediately, the golden monument changed. A name jumped onto it out of nowhere. At this moment, everyone's eyes were fixed on the golden monument, wanting to see Wan's final ranking.
"Number two hundred and eighty-fifth!"
Very quickly, the name started rising on the list and soon reached the 285th place before it stopped moving.
"285th Place. His strength is not bad!"
"It's already considered very good for a First-tier Star Warrior to leave their names on the Golden Monument."
"What do you think Roy Cruz's ranking will be?"
"He is a Level 4 Blue Spirit Star Warrior. His rank might be between thirty and sixty-five. It's hard to determine his exact rank."
"In my opinion, he should be able to enter the top fifty."
"Top fifty? That'll be amazing."
"Stop arguing. He has already gone for the test, and the results will be out soon."
At this moment, countless pairs of eyes were looking at Roy, who walked to the Golden Monument after Wan returned.
Standing in front of the monument, a powerful force surged within Roy's body. Then, just as Roy placed his hand on the Golden Monument, streams of Star Energy started falling onto it. The surface of the Golden Monument immediately began to change. A golden name appeared in no time and started rising up. Soon, it broke through the one hundred names.
In the blink of an eye, Roy's name shot past the sixty-fifth position and continued climbing. In no time, Roy's name reached the 50th rank.
"He's broken through the 50th mark!"
"Top 50! He's really incredible. He can now be ranked in the top 50."
"It is still rising. What do you think how high will his name go?"
Under the watchful eyes of the crowd, Roy's ascent finally halted at the thirty-eighth position.
"Roy, you're truly amazing! You are ranked thirty-eighth!"
Wan's face lit up with astonishment, as he almost jumped in excitement.
Roy retracted his right hand and looked at the Golden Monument. There was no joy on his face, but disappointment. He originally thought that he would be able to reach the top 30, but he didn't expect that he would only be ranked 38th.
Shaking his head, he returned to his brother's side.
After him, a few more people went over to take the test. Some people successfully left their names on the Golden Monument, while others didn't succeed.
After waiting for some time, Aiden finally walked over slowly.
"Who is this person?"
"I have never seen him."
"He is only a Level 1 First-tier Star Warrior. Do you think his name will even show up on the monument?"
Everyone's eyes fell upon Aiden, full of curiosity.
Ignoring the others, Aiden raised his right hand and slowly placed it on the Golden Monument.
The Golden Monument didn't change at all.
No one was in a hurry. They waited patiently.
Aiden wasn't surprised to see no changes on the Golden Monument. He hadn't injected any energy into it yet.
Taking a deep breath, a wave of energy slowly surged out and poured into the Golden Monument. As Aiden's energy kept pouring in, a name suddenly appeared on the Golden Monument.
Aiden Wilder!
Seeing his name on the Golden Monument, Aiden's expression distorted slightly, for he suddenly felt excited. However, his expression soon returned back to normal and remained unchanged. He continued to pour his energy into the monument.
On the other hand, people watching him were shocked.
"How can that be? He is only a Level 1 First-tier Star Warrior, yet his name actually appeared on the Golden Monument."
"That is not the most shocking. Look at his name. It is actually rising continuously. What is going on? Has the Golden Monument malfunctioned?"
Along with the infusion of Aiden's energy, his name kept moving forward, showing no signs of stopping which startled everyone.
"What's happening here? Why isn't his name stopping?"
"Could it be that he's been hiding his true strength, and he is actually a formidable Blue Spirit Star Warrior?"
"That might be the case! Otherwise, how can anyone explain why his name is climbing so quickly?"
"Looking at the speed at which his name is rising, why does it seem that he can break into the top 200?"
"Now that you say it, I feel the same."
The crowd murmured amongst themselves. Their eyes were fixed on the monument.
