How does Arad even think? How does logic work in his draconic brain, and does he even see the world in the same way everyone else does? The answer to that was an easy and clear no. Arad's void eyes allow him to see mana, and even his regular vision stretches far beyond what the human eye could see. He was like a mantis shrimp, able to see more than 16 different colors, which mana was one of, and even detect and perceive polarized light. That was how he could see in the dark, and how he could count the breathing pores on an ant's body from above the clouds.
The amount of information that his mind receives from the world to form reason was far greater than what someone like Merlin or Isdis could even imagine, so Isdis's mind control that manipulates senses would quickly crash and fail.
