Chapter 18 - CH 17

3rd POV...

Diving down, Anna activated her mask cam, granting access to Wanda and the others (trying to flex).

She saw how the first part went and found it normal, as it was the creature's home turf and Yuki was an aerial type.

Seeing Yuki get wounded, she was about to jump in, but his next move made her stop in her tracks.

As an old user and a natural one, she knew what Yuki was attempting was actually advanced Instinct work.

Now, he was using his innate manipulation not just to coat his body but to let it seep inside. As a result, he could not only control the space around him but also integrate his body into it, gaining semi-integrity.

The creature's next attack proved her right, as it passed through the eagle's body like a ghost.

After a couple of humbling blows, Yuki was about to land the finishing strike when a shriek stopped him mid-motion.

From her perception, she thought it was the same ability as before but of a different variety. However, the next action shocked her.

Yuki let go, and the giant fish didn't move. Instead, it turned and placed its head on the ground in front of Yuki.

Yuki's giant body turned into particles, and his human form appeared before the fish's head.

After a second of hesitation, he placed his hand on it. Soon, a purple light shone from his hand, and along with it, the giant fish glowed as a whole, shrinking slightly before beginning to swim around Yuki in a guarding motion.

He stood there, looking at the shining object in his hand. Soon, it expanded, taking the form of a purple snake that wrapped around him. Along with this, the current began to change, intensifying to form an underwater whirlpool.

With the strong current forming, Anna activated her Instinct, slipping into the shadow realm.

[Wanda, take the sub and slip away now! Yuki's Instinct is acting up again. Order a cleaning of the air and sea in this area!]

From there, she watched over Yuki while Wanda retreated.

In the observation deck.....

all the personnel were frozen in shocked.

All the staff and scientists at the sea station were there more or less to witness what no one else had seen before, whether it was geography or new species.

In a way, they were all mystery fanatics. Otherwise, why spend years in a station in the middle of nowhere?

Now, as if the world were playing with them, not only had they finally seen their theories proven true, they also learned that others had already known of this hidden truth.

Their entire understanding of the world was shattered. And who wouldn't be shaken? Undersea titan claws... if you weren't one hell of a gutsy person, your will would crumble just from the sight.

"So that's why they call them Titans' Houses," Li Ming murmured after they saw Yuki take down the fish and the feed froze for a second.

"What?" DJ asked curiously.

"The Guilds," she said with a sigh. "In the higher echelons of politics and the military, they call the Guilds 'Titan Houses,' or in some cases, 'Monster Cages.'"

She looked at the screen showing the frozen image of the silver eagle trapping the fish. 'I guess it wasn't just a metaphorical name, but the truth laid bare. And that's not funny at all.'

"Wait, what was that at the end?" she asked, seeing Yuki let the creature go. But soon, the scanners blared as a purple light separated from the monster's forehead.

"What's wrong?" Mark asked.

[Sir, we've got a high-energy reading… equivalent to a nuclear station feedback!] one of the officials said.

"From where?" Mark asked in confusion, but the staff only pointed at Yuki and the glow now taking a snake form around him. That was the last thing they saw before all the alarms inside came alive with warnings, and the feed cut off.

"Talk to me, people!" Mark shouted, as everyone around began moving through the deck, checking screens and measurements.

"The magnetic field and pressure readings are all over the place, and the currents is forming a whirlpool below the termic cloud. Funny enough, there's no reaction from above."

"Look at this," Jaxx exlaimed. "I found a few drones that are still active."

Seeing the vibrating scene, they were shocked — a storm under the sea.

A giant whirlpool in the center of multiple smaller ones, with lightning striking from the thermic fog.

Seconds later, the drone was dragged into the storm.

"Send this drone's frequency and control command to me," DJ said, focusing on the screen in front of him.

With his eyes on the readings of pressure, current, and sea flow, he took control of the drone, moving it perfectly, as if he were inside it.

Soon, the feed entered the eye of the storm. Despite the chaos outside, the inside was calm, with only one glowing sphere, more than ten meters in diameter, visible in the center.

The glow intensified and shattered, revealing a white shark with purple markings along its body.

"Beautiful," Heler murmured

the white color gives the shark a unique, sacred presence — and with those tribal markings, it feels like a primal king.

The shark opened its eyes and stared at the drone for several seconds before swimming around it, then suddenly accelerating and vanishing — startling all the viewers.

"Track him. This thing gives me a bad feeling," Mark said.

[No need,] Anna said through the comms.

Moments later, her mask cam came online, and to everyone's surprise, the white shark was swimming around her — and not alone. That red monster was following it closely.

"Fascinating," Heler said.

Jason frowned. "Wait, where's the kid?"

[Oh, you didn't notice?] Wanda's voice came through, and as if on cue, the white shark glowed, its form shifting into Yuki with his mask, though the lower half of his legs had become a fish fin.

[As a matter of fact, Feather is one of the nine Alphas in the world,] Wanda explained.

[And since you're now members, his innate ability is out of the spectrum. I hope you'll keep it to yourselves.] Those who truly understood were shocked, and those who didn't decided to let it go.

Too much surprise and excitement for one day.
