Everyone in her family were well aware of her ill health so she was never given any physical punishment but that did not stop Hua Fu Ren. She enjoyed torturing her. Her hatred stemmed from always being compared to Lady Seon since her younger days. Lady Seon neither hated nor liked her. For her she was just like any other kid but unbeknownst to her the Lady Kim had always hated her indifferent attitude. When Lady Seon was married off to the prince (Present day Emperor) she had prayed to the heavens that the marriage would fall apart, and she was the happiest when she heard of Lady Seon being demoted to a Concubine as soon as the prince ascended to the throne. In her jealousy she failed to see that she was also Seon's family member in the eyes of the emperor and that she was just a piece of his chess game.
After six hours the emperor showed up and much to everyone's surprise, he reprimanded his new Consort. "His Imperial Majesty is entering", announced the door keeper. "My dear Fu Ren, I see that you have come here to meet your sister but, on whose permission, did you enter these doors?", questioned the emperor. To those who did not know him well, it would sound as if he was being concerned for Lady Seon but only, she knew that the emperor was questioning what they were planning against him. "Your Majesty, I just missed my cousin, so I wanted to see her with my own eyes", said Fu Ren. "Then I will also let you enjoy alone time for a month, pass my decree. My Fu Ren whose heart is pure and empathetic will share her sister's punishment for a month", declared the emperor.
Hua Fu Ren who had thought that she could do anything to Lady Seon now that she had the upper hand fell on the floor. "I apologize Your Majesty, please have mercy on me", she begged but the emperor left giving a quick glance to Lady Seon. Hua Fu Ren who was punished to remind her place was very agitated but didn't waste her time staying in that place. "His Majesty still has you in his heart Niang Niang", said Xiaoxia helping her mistress get up. "No, from what I can see it is just a beginning of a downfall", announced the wife who could read her husband's mind.
REALITY
Ji-Soo woke up with tears rolling down her face. "Mom, can I get a glass of water", asked Ji-Soo who woke up at around 2:47 A.M. She looked around but couldn't see her mother, so she got up from her bed and walked towards the kitchen. As she approached the living room, she could hear someone sniffing. She looked around but couldn't see anyone, so she decided to follow the source. The sound led her to the passage, and she could see someone standing. "Mom is that you?", she questioned.
As she went closer to the shadow, she could feel chills and goosebumps. "Mom?", she called again but the shadow now remained still. She stopped on her tracks, and something told her to run away. She turned around but her body was stuck in the same spot. "Hmm, Hmmm, hmm", was the sound that she didn't want to respond but from the corner of her eyes she could tell that something was approaching her. As soon as she closed her eyes she felt as if she was released from a tight grip but the moment, she opened her eyes she was met with a face which only had two hollow eyes and no other features. Ji-Soo blacked out a few seconds later as she was too scared with what she saw.
