Melody Monroe had no idea what this woman was talking about. 'What does she mean, my life is cursed? The director was replaced?'
She glanced at the cigarette in the woman's hand and hesitated. The woman clearly had a forceful personality, but Melody still couldn't help but speak up. "Um, miss? You can't smoke in the hospital. Besides, there's a child here."
Rose Shaw, who had been about to light her cigarette, froze. She glanced toward the hospital bed, a hint of confusion in her eyes. Her gaze then fell on Ian Monroe, who was huddled by the bedside.
She put the cigarette away and walked toward the bed.
Ian Monroe flinched, looking terrified.
"Haven't I told you? I've already made arrangements for the boy. You are not to have any more contact with him! If the media finds out you have a child out of wedlock, do you still think you can make it in the entertainment industry?"
Melody Monroe was a walking question mark.
'She gave birth to this child?'
'This joke has gone way too far!'
'She's never even held a guy's hand, and she's only a sophomore! A sophomore! How could she possibly have a son this old?!'
'Besides, with her genes... Not to be self-deprecating, but she could never give birth to a child this beautiful, right?'
"I snuck out by myself... It's not... it's not her fault..." Ian Monroe stammered, his little face turning toward Melody Monroe, as if he couldn't find the right thing to call her.
A sharp pain shot through Melody Monroe's head. It wasn't from the wound on her forehead, but from the situation she was now in!
'This scene, this whole setup... why is it so similar to that trashy novel she was reading?!'
"Excuse me, are you Rose Shaw?" Melody Monroe asked tentatively.
Rose Shaw looked at her as if she were an idiot. Then, a flicker of concern crossed her features. "Melody Monroe, you weren't injured so badly that you don't remember who I am, were you?"
"The ace agent from Stellaris Entertainment?"
Rose Shaw's worry slowly faded. 'Looks like she hasn't gone completely stupid, then.'
Melody Monroe's brain felt like it was about to crash. 'Don't tell me I've actually transmigrated?!'
"Do you have a mirror?" Melody Monroe asked quickly.
Rose Shaw, assuming Melody was worried about being disfigured, glanced around. Spotting a purse set to one side, she handed it to her.
Melody Monroe immediately opened the purse, found a mirror, and stared at the reflection. She was completely stunned.
'This face was so exquisite, no plastic surgeon could ever hope to replicate it! It's exactly as it was described in the book!'
'In the book she'd read, the supporting character, Melody Monroe, wielded her stunning looks like a deadly weapon, allowing her to get away with all sorts of evil and still come out on top!'
The mirror slipped from her fingers. Melody Monroe's mind went completely blank.
'She'd gone to sleep, and woken up inside that trashy novel she was reading? And she'd become the villainess—the most wicked, the biggest troublemaker, the one everyone loved to hate, and the character who met the most miserable end!'
"You just focus on recovering for now. I already spoke with the doctor. The wound is on your head, so it won't affect your looks. You got lucky this time. If you had scarred your face, your career in this business would be over!"
Rose Shaw's gaze fell back on Ian Monroe.
Melody Monroe could feel the child beside her trembling. She glanced down at the future "big boss" who was still gripping her hand, too scared to let go.
'This future big boss... he was just way too adorable as a kid!'
'She was someone who had read the entire novel from beginning to end without skipping a single chapter! She knew how the whole story was supposed to go!'
Melody Monroe quickly reined in her emotions, trying to place herself within the current plotline.
'So right now... did she transmigrate into the villainous big boss's side story?'
'She wasn't in the main plotline?!'
'Well, this is fucking awkward!'
