Ian Monroe would wake up at 6:30 AM sharp every morning.
Sitting up in bed, he immediately turned on his smartwatch. A message was waiting for him.
"My Ian, my little treasure, Mommy's precious little darling..."
A smile touched his lips, but as he listened on, it slowly faded into disappointment.
Mommy couldn't come home to be with him today.
But Mommy had to go to work.
'It's okay. Ian will just wait at home for Mommy.'
The little fellow deftly climbed out of bed, opened his small wardrobe, and started getting dressed. Though he wasn't very skilled yet, and his movements were slow and even a bit clumsy, he still did everything himself, one piece at a time.
Once dressed, he faced the mirror to straighten his askew clothes. Suddenly, he noticed a button on his collar was undone. He immediately turned back to the mirror and meticulously fastened it.
Whenever he wore clothes with buttons, not a single one could be left undone; they all had to be buttoned up perfectly.
