"It's so late. You've already arranged a place to stay, haven't you?"
"What? Afraid I'll go up and see someone I shouldn't?"
"Park the car. Room 2607," Evan Fairchild said, then turned to leave.
Ian Fairchild parked the car and went to the room Evan had mentioned. The door opened before he could even ring the bell.
He walked straight in, his gaze sweeping around the room before he walked to the sofa and sat down.
"Want something to drink?"
"Whatever."
Evan Fairchild opened the fridge, grabbed a bottle of mineral water, and handed it to Ian Fairchild.
"I'm heading back to Argent first thing tomorrow morning. I'll just crash here for the night, is that okay?"
"Sure," Evan Fairchild nodded.
Ian Fairchild was inwardly pleased. "Show me around your place."
"Take your time looking around. I won't see you off tomorrow," Evan Fairchild said, getting up to leave.
"Where are you going?"
"Home," Evan Fairchild replied without the slightest hesitation.
