"Ahh, help. "
"Wait, can we talk about this…"
"Ahh, damn you bastards, my big brother will…"
"Help, I want my mommy... Ahhhh. "
"Ahhhhh."
Cries for help and despair rang through various battlefields as the Shadow Garden began harvesting the lives of all the hero faction members they found. These heroes, who always looked down on all supernatural beings, were like lambs sent to the slaughterhouse.
Usually, such a situation wouldn't happen, as even in the hero faction there are a considerable number of elite soldiers who have strength similar to cadres like Jeanne or Siegfried. But even these heroes were helpless against these Shadow Garden girls.
Their sacred gears, which amount to 70-80% of their powers, never worked on these people, forcing them to abandon their greatest trump cards. This is why the hero faction members are suffering many casualties.
Of course, apart from the massive power gap between the two parties, the most obvious reason for the hero faction's massive casualty rate is that every single weapon the Shadow Garden girls wield is very lethal to them.
Every time they get hurt by these weapons, the heroes could feel their life energy drained at a very fast rate. When they investigated what happened, they were shocked to find that they were cursed.
And this curse is very poisonous; not only does this curse drain away their life force, but it also makes it harder for them to manipulate their battle aura and magic power.
This made it even harder for them to survive against the Shadow Garden's attacks. And what's made them feel despair was the fact that even if they grit their teeth and endure, the life force absorption rate would increase drastically when they start fighting.
So no matter what, they were like sitting ducks waiting to be slaughtered. Whether they hide or even take shifts in blocking the incoming attacks, everything is useless. The shadow garden is something Roxanne built, and all of its members are people who have gone through Scáthach's training.
Ironically, each of them has the qualifications to become heroes, unlike these useless people who only know how to boast about their connections to their ancestors.
So instead of calling this a battlefield, it should be called a purge to wash away the shame of heroes.
As the number of heroes began to decrease, the higher-ups of each faction began to take notice of this.
…..
"Damn it!"
High in the air, Cao Cao cursed as he battled Amaterasu. He watched from above as his men were slaughtered like chickens.
In the past, Cao Cao hadn't valued these guys; they were just pawns to him. But seeing them wiped out like this gave him a massive headache. They were the only soldiers he had left, and dying so pathetically made him lose face.
'Damn it, aren't we supposed to be heroes?' Cao Cao fumed. 'How am I supposed to become the overlord of this world if you guys can't even survive a few henchmen?'
While Cao Cao was seething, Amaterasu was having the time of her life. She knew Roxanne had trained some capable subordinates, but she never expected them to be this elite.
These heroes all had various Sacred Gears, each one trickier than the last. Amaterasu knew that if she had tried to do what Roxanne just did, her own troops would have taken heavy casualties. But Roxanne's team hadn't lost a single soldier. It made Amaterasu incredibly envious.
Who wouldn't want subordinates like that? If she had them, she could have already driven away all those troublesome devils who kept causing trouble in Japan.
'I'm so jealous it's making me angry,' Amaterasu thought. Her attacks grew more aggressive as she turned her frustration on Cao Cao. Since she was annoyed, she was going to make sure he was miserable, too.
Cao Cao felt the pressure and growled. 'Damn you, don't think I'm a pushover like those guys.'
"Let me show you how a true hero fights!" he roared as he increased the magic power output.
The holy light around the True Longinus became even more dazzling. When one looked at it for a long time, they might hear prayers from all the believers of Christianity.
Cao Cao spun the True Longinus around him and took a martial arts stance. His eyes grew sharp, and the murderous aura hidden in his heart burst out like a dam. This murderous aura wrapped around his body like armor, forming a sharp contrast to the holy aura coming from the True Longinus.
"O Spear. The true Holy Spear, which pierces through God—may the ignorant bear witness to your wrath—take this, The Wrath of God, " Cao Cao shouted as he thrust the True Longinus with all his might.
The murderous aura and the holy aura began to combine and shot towards Amatarasu at breakneck speed. Whenever the attack passed, space and time were annihilated.
Seeing such a deadly attack, Amaterasu didn't get anxious. Although such a flashy move looked dangerous for beings like her, this trick is nothing for her.
"Heh, enough with such party tricks. "Amaterasu, sneered as she gathered her divine power into her hands.
She then, like swatting a fly away, slapped the attack and directly destroyed it. From her face, one could even tell that she didn't even use much effort.
" Listen, brat, not all attacks need to focus on being cool; they only need to be practical enough, " Amaterasu said as she made a pistol with her hands and pointed at Cao Cao.
Then the next moment, terrifying magic power began to gather around Amaterasu's finger, forming a small fireball.
With this, the temperature in the surroundings began to increase drastically. The buildings nearby began to melt, and lakes and every other water source began to dry up quickly. It was like a small sun was born, bringing destruction everywhere.
Seeing this, Cao Cao's expression turned extremely grim. There was even a hint of fear in the depths of his eyes.
' Damn it, I'm screwed,' Cao Cao thought as he began opening his Balance Breaker. He knew he had been too arrogant. He should have used Balance Breaker directly and tried to finish this fight already.
Although Amaterasu's ranking isn't as high as Indra's or Shiva's, she isn't actually a pushover. One could say that anyone who became the head of their own pantheon is no small character.
And Cao Cao had forgotten this fact when he directly challenged Amaterasu, when he realized they were ambushed by everyone.
"Heh, kid, take this, small sun, " Amaterasu spoke as she fired the small sun at Cao Cao.
The fireball, like a meteor, flew straight towards Cao Cao, and the aftershock created by this attack was way more impressive than what Cao Cao's attack caused.
Cao Cao didn't hesitate as he shouted,
"BALANCE BREAKER POLAR NIGHT LONGINUS CHAKRAVARTIN"
