"Patricia, this little girl didn't trouble you during her visit, did she?" Miss Zara asked with a smile, pointing at Little Zoe, who was busy eating pizza.
"Not at all. In fact, she brightened my mood with her visit," Patricia replied with a smile.
"By the way, where is her father?" she asked, curious about Little Zoe's father.
"Well, my husband died in a war a very long time ago," Miss Zara replied, letting out a soft sigh.
"In fact, when he died, Zoe wasn't even born yet. So, she never got to see her father. I raised her all by myself."
Miss Zara's words left Patricia speechless. She hadn't realized that Little Zoe was fatherless, and it made her feel pity for the little girl.
"I'm sorry. I shouldn't have asked such a sensitive question. My curiosity got the better of me," Patricia quickly apologized to Miss Zara.
"It's fine. It's been many years since he died. It doesn't bother me anymore," Miss Zara replied with a soft chuckle.
