I heard my head in my hands and stared at my hatchlings. We had been confined to my room until they could figure out what to do with us. Which left me with more time to thing than I would have liked. It also built up more adrenaline in my system. I had enough room to excerise but it wasn't enough to burn off what was racing through my body. So I paced. And paced. And paced some more. Until I couldn't anymore.
I was ready to start climbing the walls and howl like the wild beast that threatened to rip its way through the ship. It made me look at my hatchlings. How long until we turned on each other?
It wasn't a question I liked asking myself but it was a question. It was possible and became more likely with every day. It was also better than the other questions that raced through my mind.
My head lifted at the sound of rushing footsteps outside my door.
Was it time? Were they going to take the hatchlings from me? Kill me?
The door opened to reveal him. Gintya.
