As I turned to the next page my heart sank.
"I couldn't save the beast woman and her child...The masked man and I tried to keep them behind us but in the panic they snuck away, hoping to go unnoticed. A fools mistake, they were captured immediately. I feel nauseous just thinking what those hideous creatures must have done to them." I read.
I clenched my teeth, as I felt Lucy breathe a disappointed sigh on my neck. The silence spoke volumes.
"I should have intervened then and there, Orcs were fodder in front of the manticores i had killed. Disgusting slabs of fat the could only grovel and squeal as they died, but as the pair were being captured the masked man stopped me. If you leave the rest of us die..." I continued. "Unfortunately he was right, he could sense my mana, he knew I was strong. This was a battle of attrition, the orc were waiting for us to give up. Little did they know what was coming for them"
