The boy showed no reaction at all to what Miss Lily said.
"Alright, I won't bother you here anymore. Take care," said Miss Lily as she stood up, gently touched her son's head, and then turned to leave.
After the sound of her footsteps faded outside the room, the boy pushed himself up slowly from the wheelchair arms to stand.
Standing at about 175 cm, he was quite tall for a fourteen-year-old, and with his slender build, he appeared even taller.
However, his face was youthful, clearly indicating that he was a minor.
The boy took two steps towards the floor-to-ceiling window, gazing through the clean, bright glass, as if looking out at the blue horizon, or perhaps seeing nothing at all.
Though the boy had autism from a young age, Miss Lily had always collaborated with professionals to treat her only son.
She arranged for a childcare team to look after and educate him on life skills, as well as academic development.
Of course, she was involved herself, too.
